we are very happy to announce the opening of a Tenure Track position in "Open Science and Meta Science in Management and Economics" at the Department of Banking and Finance of the University of Innsbruck.
This tenure-track position is to conduct independent research and teaching in Open Science and Metascience in Management and Economics. The main areas of research should be in Open Science, Metascience, and Crowd Science. An international outlook, and interdisciplinary openness are expected. Close cooperation with the Department of Banking and Finance, the Faculty of Business and Management and the Faculty of Economics and Statistics, the research centre “Innsbruck Decision Sciences”, as well as participation in the interdisciplinary research area EPoS „Economy, Politics & Society“ are expected.
Teaching (4h/week before tenure, then 8h/week) comprises the (co-)supervision of courses in the BSc Management and Economics, BSc International Business and Economics, MSc Banking and Finance, and the PhD-program Management as well as the supervision of students including (co-)supervision of theses. Participation in academic self-administration is expected.
Employment Requirements include
- doctoral degree in management, economics or social sciences;
- post-doc experience and/or professional experience;
- output beyond the PhD, documented by publications in international peer-reviewed journals and presentations at international conferences; workshops
- interdisciplinary work;
- international research network;
- involvement in research projects and the acquisition of competitive grants;
- pronounced teaching skills and experience with (co-)supervising students;
- communication and team work skills;
- organizational and management qualities;
- fluency in English is required; knowledge of the German language is not strictly required for this position, but the successful applicant will convincingly demonstrate her/his willingness to become proficient in the language at the level of teaching in the BSc program.
Format of the Position
At the University of Innsbruck, a ‘tenure-track position’ offers the pursuit of a career up to tenured full professor. The successful applicant will enter a six-years’ work contract on the basis of the ‘Angestelltengesetz’ (Employees Act; extent of employment: 100%) and at the same time negotiates and signs a ‘Qualification Agreement’ according to § 27 of the ‘Kollektivvertrag’ (Austrian Collective Labor Agreement for university personnel); (s)he will start her/his occupation at the rank of Assistant Professor. Once the goals agreed upon in the ‘Qualification Agreement’ are achieved, the position will be tenured, thus promoting the holder of the position to Associate Professor. Subsequently, a full professor position according to § 99 (4) of the ‘Universitätsgesetz’ (Austrian University Act) will be opened, for which the Associate Professor is eligible to apply.

In line with the ‘Kollektivvertrag’ (Austrian Collective Labor Agreement for university personnel) scientists who have entered a ‘Qualification Agreement’ are in remuneration group A2 with an initial wage of € 5.595,60 / month (14 times). After fulfillment of the Agreement, the salary rises to € 6.055,70 / month (14 times).
