I bought lightroom CS6 in May and installed on my laptop no problem. I have recently built a computer and unfortunately completely forgot to buy an ethernet cable, so it does not currently connect to the internet. I went to install lightroom 6 on this desktop (as I had ordered lightroom using the CD), and followed the instructions for offline activation- (you need to enter a request code into a computer which does have internet, which generates a response code which you then enter onto the computer that doesn't have internet); but every time the code is generated within my laptop, I am told by my desktop that "response code entered is invalid. Please re-enter". I have been here for literally an hour trying to work out where I might have gone wrong, but the response code that I am entering is definitely what has been given to me on my laptop. Any ideas of how I can register?

Same problem. Trying to reinstall my CS6 disc and the installer doesn't recognize that I'm on the internet, so I can't verify serial number. Go to the offline verification link, and they require a REQUEST (not Response code) code plus the serial number in order to generate a Response Code. But there is NO Request code anywhere on the disc or on the labels with the serial number on the package. All the Adobe people answering questions on this on other forums clearly have never gone to the Offline page, because they keep referring people to it without even realizing that entering a Request Code is required along with the serial number in order to generate a Response Code to verify the installation. And, of course, there's no Request Code included on any of the licensed materials. Adobe sucks so bad, this is infuriating. I'll be looking elsewhere in the future.

Request codes aren't on the disk or in the package - there'd be no point to that. They are freshly made BY YOUR SOFTWARE ON YOUR COMPUTER. So the response code will work only on your computer, it's a security thing. No, I don't know what you have to click to make it, but it may save you time know you can't get it off Adobe's web site, and you can't get it off your packaging.

Nancy, the installation went fine until I went to verify my serial number. If you look at the post right above yours, I explain that the instructions which all of you are linking to for Offline Activation are incorrect, and I uploaded an image of the Offline Activation page. It should explain, I hope, the problem with the instructions. The Offline Activation page asks for your PRODUCT's Request Code along with its serial number. Once you insert that, it will generate a Response Code which you use to verify the product. So understand, there are two codes: a Request Code which along with the serial number is from your product (CS6 etc), and the Response Code, which is what Adobe generates from the serial number and the request code you provide from your product. The widely used link to the instructions for the Offline Activation are wrong because they just state to enter your serial number and click for a response code. The Request Code, which is needed to generate the Response Code is not anywhere on said product or its packaging. This is a legit licensed copy of CS6 which I parted with $600 for in 2012 and still have all the original packaging and labels and disc. No Request Code anywhere. I will upload the image of the Offline Activation page again here so you can see that it is asking for a request code from your product along with its serial number in order to generate a response code to use for activation.

3- double click on any of the applications, there you will get a window where you can choose to install offline (I forgot the exact wording)
4- click on it and there's your request code, and underneath, it asks for the response code

To give Adobe credit, the company has offered offline activation in the past for users who can't access the Internet on a particular machine. By logging into Adobe on a device that can connect to the Internet, you can fill in a form and generate a response code, which will help you finish the installation process. The big question is if Adobe will still give response codes to users of the older Creative Suite 2, 3, or 4 which they have now retired the activation servers for. I have asked this very question twice to Adobe but have yet to receive an answer. I would personally file this option in the long-shot category, as there's no guarantee this approach currently works and even less chance of it working in several years' time.

You own your CS version. There is an offline activation method, which is what you need to do. The SN will get you the install, but not the activation. Go offline when you do the install and first run (pull the ethernet or turn off wifi). Then you can select that you're not online and want to activate by phone. It will give you a code to call adobe with, and then they can give you a response code that will do the activation. If they're not doing that anymore either, then they definitely won't ever get any more of my money, EVER.

This is the standard boiler plate response Canon gives you when you contact support. However, after calling support, they informed me that they no longer service inexpensive printers and could only offer a 10% discount and free shipping on a new one. According to support, there is no consumer option to reset the waste ink counter and I should throw the printer out. Are you kidding me??? What a waste of a perfectly serviceable printer, not to mention how environmentally insensitive this solution is! Locking the consumer out with a 5b00 error code is simply Canon's way of selling you a new printer. Fixed obsolescence. Should be against the law. Maybe a call to the Consumer Protection Agency would end this practice.
