hey, i've ran into a problem where my audio crackles and pops using cubase 10 and the steinberg ur22 mk2 audio interface when i playback audio. i've tried messing around with the buffer size but that doesn't help, also tried recreating the track in ableton live with the same buffer size (512 samples) and no problem there. i'm using the latest yamaha steinberg usb driver (1.10.3). i've also tried changing the usb port with no success, using usb 2.0 right now.

Guys, need advice. I constantly hear a crackling noise in my monitors when midi devices are used/connected: Komplete Kontrol, a Prophet. or even when I use a mouse. When the computer is idle it is way better. I have MacBook pro m1, Cubase Pro 12, UR 44C. Had the same problem with my older PC too. CPU has no spikes. I thought this may be interference in my monitors (Mackie Mr 624) as their cables are close to all other devices. Can this be another reason?

Does the problem happen if you change your audio device to the built-in MacBook speakers? After trying that, I would try disconnecting everything and opening up cubase with no third party plugins or anything.

Hi, I also have this issue with crackling when instrument tracks are clicked. Only a question: Which Sound Card do you use? I have an UAD Apollo Twin USB. Could the USB driver be the reason of this issue?

I bought a new Asus z170-a mainboard and Steinberg UR 44.
I made a fresh install of Windows 10 pro. But even on listening mp3 with ur44, sound crackles. Especially while browsing and scrolling! I installed all usb, chipset drivers but no luck. I tried to plug ur44 to all usb 2.0 and 3.0 ports. And sound also crackles in cubase even @2048. So there is something wrong with usb ports. Are there anyone with same problems? If so is there a solution?

Try opening Cubase in safe mode using the option to disable all plugins. See if the crackle are gone. If so the culprit is likely to be a plugin that causing the crackles. Sometimes demo plugins use crackles.

Have you set the power scheme to ultimate or turned the steinberg one on? There are lots of audio tweaks that can be done on a pc. Also you can get latency mon program to see what may be causing the problem. The other thing I recommend is getting an audio interface that has its own asio driver and not use the internal audio of the pc with asio4all

Just a thought but Pod Go has parameter settings that intentionally produce crackle/hum to replicate vintage gear. Try reducing/zeroing the ripple and hum settings (see p15 in the manual) in the amp models and see if that makes any difference.

Also what drivers are you using? ASIO is what is suggested for low latency playback, anyway, I'm definitely not the expert here... But yeah if you get the same issue using the same driver, well, likely driver issue, if in Audacity using the same driver it works flawlessly, then the issue is likely cubase or cubase + driver... At least it would help you in your search to correct the issue.
