When you send a message, you can see ticks that indicate whether a message was read (blue ticks) unless the recipient turned this off. You can turn this off as well, but you will not be able to see read receipts for anyone else. This removes the pressure to respond right away.

Hi, I noticed that on my new iphone 14 that my camera is being by whatsapp even when the app is closed and removed from the background. Is that an iPhone bug or is it indeed being used and my security is compromised ? did this happen to anybody ?
I am facing the same issue of whatsapp using my camera, even if I close the app in background and even if I turn of my camera access from the settings still it shows that whatsapp is using my camera, it is really scary but whenever that happens I just restart my device and it goes away.
I had the same issue. I uninstalled WhatsApp. Noticed the green light and then proceeded to shut my phone off. When I powered back on the light was gone and I reinstalled the app. Issue resolved. Hope this helps.
Did you delete the app or remove it from your Home screen? Go to the App Store and search for WhatsApp. Does it show a download icon, or does it say OPEN (meaning it is still on your phone). And did you restart your phone after removing it?
