Sims2pack clean installer is a tool for installation files / packages. Sims2pack clean installer provides a significant number of power features that improve application management. It allows to install the content of a group of zip or rar archives with single click. Sims2pack clean installer fixing bugs during shell extension, errors when missing download folder, remove file, file crashing etc. It has special hidden option for object creator. Sims2pack clean installer gives you a lot of information about the package files within lots, so you can use your judgment to decide which of those files might be dangerous. It stores information about installed packages like type of package, date/time installed etc. It includes information about packages like name, version, author, description, email url etc. Sims2pack Clean installer is easy to operate, easy to maintain packages for installing files. Before installing the program for the first time, make sure you have the latest version of the Microsoft .NET Framework installed. If you are upgrading or reinstalling the program, you must first remove the current version of S2CI from your system. NOTE: When you install S2PCI, the program sets itself to be the default package installer. If you want to return to the Maxis package installer, you must manually change the file association for .Sims2pack files. (Search Windows Help for information on associating files.)
First, make sure you have downloaded and installed the latest version of the .NET Framework from Microsoft. Click on the link at the bottom of the S2PCI Downloads page to go to the Microsoft site. The Microsoft site has information about the .NET Framework.
Not all hacks are known (the list is expanding all the time). However, the Sims2Pack Clean Installer gives you a lot of information about the package files within lots, so you can use your judgment to decide which of those files might be dangerous.
You can use S2PCI to remove a family from a lot without removing the furniture by clearing only the checkboxes familySegmentForUpload, and all Persons on the lot.
- After choosing which package files to include with the lot, click Install to install the lot. The Installing packages dialog appears.
 
- Ensure that the Default installation checkbox is selected and click Install.
- Click Okay to the message that all files were successfully installed.
NOTE: The current version of S2PCI cannot open "nested" archives (for example, a RAR archive that contains other RAR archives). You will have to extract any nested archives into the Windows folder before installing.
S2PCI allows you to review the contents of your Sims 2 Downloads folder, or other directories where Sims2 package files are stored. By doing this you can identify hacks, duplicate files, and empty packages, and then enable, disable, or remove them. (If you are not sure about removing them entirely, you can disable them first, or you can move suspect files to separate directory.) These actions are available using a shortcut menu that appears when you click the right mouse button. Moving files to a separate directory can also help you organize your Sims 2 Downloads folder by creating subfolders for walls, floors, terrain paints, game objects, hacks (if you use them), and object recolors. NOTE: Do not place the following types of packages in subfolders, or they will not be available in your game:
- eye color
- glasses
- lipstick
- blush
- eyeliner
- eyeshadow
- costume makeup
- skin tone
- hair color
- hair mesh
- clothing
If you select the Recursive checkbox (selected by default), S2PCI will include the contents of subfolders contained within the folder you select. Clear the checkbox if you do not want to include the contents of subfolders in the list. NOTE: To create a list that excludes the contents of subfolders, you must clear the Recursive checkbox first, then select the directory. If you select the Preview images checkbox (selected by default), S2PCI displays an example of the textures or images contained in the package. These images are displayed in a small window that opens separately when you click on a package. Select the Auto size option if you want the window to resize itself based on the size of the image.
If you want to share houses you have created, but not custom content (especially hacks), S2PCI allows you to create a package that contains only the lotSegmentForUpload file and any other files you choose to include. You can also use S2PCI to remove a family from a lot without removing the furniture.
Hi everyone, ever since I installed the TS2 UC my sims2pack files do not work anymore, their icon is white like if the game couldn't find the sims2pack installer. Could someone tell me where to find it? (the sims2pack installer) Or does anyone knows any other way to fix this?
I really hope this helped many people, it took me a little while to find this solution, but it was may be an hour, but I found it. I was actually praying a bit to find it. God sure answers prayers.:catvery-happy:
I totally messed up my Sims 2 yesterday by going onto Orign and playing the Dexlue. Now II can't play either game. I uninstalled the Deluxe and Ultimate collection is just a blue screen instead of loading the game. Have Windows 7 but don't have 'open with'.
Hello , i hope someone still can help me in here as i try this yesterday and got to install the Sims2pack and the icon now shows that one from the Body shop , the problem now is that whenever i double click the packages type files , they just don't open and i am not sure what to do , i did what the other guy said about entering the .exe on the installerpack but still nada....please help me D :
@jonsnow1792 , your best bet now days is to go to Mod The Sims and download the Sims 2 pack Clean Installer which will help you to install CC into the game as well as checking for dodgy CC. You can Google search for the site.
@SIMSTER00 , no there aren't any different steps for the basic game installation. My advice to restart Origin and possibly clear your Origin cache. The only things you need to make sure you do to get the game to run properly. Make sure you download and install Graphics Rule Maker which insures that the game recognizes your graphics card. Any questions about installation and use of Graphics Rule Maker can be found at Leefish's forum (you'll need to Google search for both) and the 4GB patch. You can find excellent videos on YouTube about how to make sure that the game runs smoothly.
This topic contains 4 parts. Parts 1 and 2 are instructions for installing the 2 different file types for The Sims 2 custom content, it also contains instructions for the 2 additional things you need to do if you have never used custom content before (3. Enabling custom content in your game, and 4. Installing the CEP files)
Please note that some users find that fashion files do not show up in the default 'Downloads' folder. If this happens to you then try putting them in the folder named SavedSims instead. Fashion items also cannot be read by the game if they are placed in subfolders unlike all other package files.
After unzipping sims2pack files must be 'run' by double clicking on them. This will cause the game installer to handle them, putting the contents of the sims2pack file into your game for you. Follow the on-screen instructions and repeat for each sims2pack file.
It does a really terrible job of dealing with any content in the sims2pack which is already in your game. Instead of just skipping any existing files, it'll create a new copy with a nonsense filename (making it hard to identify). Sometimes these copies are not even properly working, little bits can get lost along the way.
Don't worry, there is an alternative which is a little community made program called the Clean Pack Installer. It is a bit more technical, but it'll let you be in charge of your content and it's really easy to use once you know how!
If you are a house builder who likes to share your lots then it is important to be aware of this as the game often prefers to use these copies instead of the real thing! If you use a broken junk copy in a house and then export that house for sharing, it's the copy that gets included, not the original!
This method should also apply with newer Stuff Packs and any Deluxe or Double Deluxe version, however if you have never had that box popping up when you start the game then please use the method below.
Please download one of the files below and unzip it. The Auto Installer version can be run by double clicking on the extracted file and following the on-screen instructions. The manual version comes with documentation, please read and follow the instructions included in the zip:
