Guns of Banaras is a 2020 Indian action film directed by Shekkhar Suri and starring Karann Nathh, Nathalia Kaur, Ganesh Venkatraman and Shilpa Shirodkar. The film is a remake of the 2007 Tamil film Polladhavan, which starred Dhanush and Divya Spandana. The film was released on 28 February 2020, but failed to impress the critics and the audience.
The film revolves around Guddu Shukla (Karann Nathh), a young man who loves bikes and dreams of owning a Ducati. He lives with his father (Abhimanyu Singh), who runs a small garage, and his mother (Shilpa Shirodkar), who is a homemaker. Guddu falls in love with Hema (Nathalia Kaur), a college student, and impresses her with his bike skills. He also befriends Vikram Singh (Ganesh Venkatraman), a police officer who helps him get a loan for his bike.
However, things take a turn for the worse when Guddu's bike is stolen by a gang of criminals led by Tej Singh (Zarina Wahab), who runs an illegal organ trade racket. Guddu sets out to find his bike and confronts Tej Singh, who reveals that she has sold his bike to a buyer in Nepal. Guddu decides to go to Nepal and get his bike back, but he faces many obstacles and dangers along the way. He also learns that Vikram Singh is actually Tej Singh's son and is involved in her crimes. Will Guddu be able to recover his bike and expose Tej Singh's racket? Or will he lose everything in his quest for revenge?
Guns of Banaras is a typical masala film that tries to cash in on the popularity of the original Tamil film. However, it fails to recreate the charm and thrill of Polladhavan, which was praised for its realistic portrayal of the underworld and its engaging screenplay. Guns of Banaras suffers from poor direction, weak script, mediocre performances and outdated action scenes. The film also lacks the emotional depth and the humour that made Polladhavan a hit.
The film is available for download in Hindi dubbed version on some websites, but it is not recommended to watch it as it is a pirated copy that violates the copyright laws. The film has not been officially released on any streaming platform or DVD yet.
If you are looking for a good action film to watch, you can skip Guns of Banaras and watch Polladhavan instead, which is available on YouTube with English subtitles.
