Hi Pjotr

I recently upgraded using the LM21 upgrade tool and now I notice the following:

On boot or shut down various quickly disappearing 'messages' appear on screen.

My log shows the following:
  1. Failed to start casper-md5check Verify Live ISO checksums.
  2. mtd device must be supplied (device name is empty)
  3. ACPI Error: Aborting method \_PR.CPU3._CPC due to previous error (AE_NOT_FOUND) (20210730/psparse-529) AND ACPI BIOS Error (bug): Could not resolve symbol [\_PR.CPU0._CPC], AE_NOT_FOUND (20210730/psargs-330)
  4. x86/cpu: SGX disabled by BIOS.
My notebook (Acer Swift 3) seems to be working as normal with no obvious problems, but I'm concerned these log errors indicate something serious is going on.

I look forward to your expert thoughts to put my mind at rest.

Thank you, and regards.

John

Hi John,

At first glance these errors look innocent. The fact that your notebook is working OK, is also a strong indication of that. So I wouldn't worry; Linux is notoriously talkative about errors.

However, you can always google a bit with those errors as search terms. And see what it tells you. But don't ruin your system while trying to "solve" these "issues".

Regards, Pjotr.
