I have been looking for animated wallpapers for windows 10. With everything this O S can do, they apparently neglected this service. What a disappointment. The available images seem to be limited to computerized designs. What happened to live image video photography? The still shots continue to be excellent. Am I mistaken?
Hi there , click on settings , applications , running services , then you should see your live wallpaper , click on that and then settings , the just choose wallpaper instead of live wallpaper and this will stop it and revert to a normal sony paper or whatever else you have in there .
The Windows login screen is not meant to be modified as a design decision by Microsoft. Making changes to it essentially requires hacking Windows in an unsafe and unstable manner. This means that if a Windows update modifies the lock screen or if the app crashes, you would be unable to login to your computer entirely. The feature could potentially stop working at any time, causing unpredictable side effects.
If Microsoft officially makes this possible or if we discover a safe way to add live wallpapers to the Windows lock screen, we will implement this feature. Currently, there are no known safe ways to accomplish this, which is why live wallpapers cannot be set on the lock screen by Wallpaper Engine.
However, you can still configure Wallpaper Engine to override the static lock screen image with a snapshot of your current live wallpaper. To do this, enable the Override lock screen image option in the General tab of the Wallpaper Engine settings.

As we all know 8-bit art is awesome: as soon as I saw the impressive collection of landscapes I decided I had to place them somewhere close to my eyes so that I could gorge on them continuously. Each landscape matches a different month of the year and all of them feature a fancy palette cycling that animates the scene in a loop and also shows different illumination according to the time of the day. I thought this would make a perfect animated live wallpaper. Kind of like f.lux but with a retro, pixelated heart.
Some of the scenes can palette-cycle through different weather condition, so I added a function that checks the location of the client and matches the scene with the current weather, when available. I also sacrificed a bit the refresh rate of the visualization for the sake of reaching a CPU usage that I could accept. Currently this live wallpaper is costing me between 4 and 8% load of one CPU of my quad core laptop. Our recommended app is Lively Wallpaper, a free and open-source app. You can download Lively Wallpaper from the Microsoft Store. To get this app, click the Windows Search icon in the taskbar, type "Microsoft Store" in the Search box, and then select Microsoft Store from the search results.
Lively Wallpaper comes equipped with several live wallpapers for you to choose from. To use one, simply open the app and then select the one you want from the library. In this example, we'll choose Parallax.js.
Whether you chose a local video or GIF, or a YouTube video, it will appear in the app's library. Click the Library button (three books) in the left-hand pane, and then choose the newly uploaded video or GIF.
If you're using multiple monitors, you may notice that the wallpaper you selected is only applied to one screen. To set the live wallpaper on other monitors, open the app and click the Control Panel (monitor) icon in the top-right corner of the window.
The app's Control Panel will appear. The default placement method is "Selected Screen Only," which means that the wallpaper you select will only be displayed on the selected screen. To set a wallpaper on the other screen, select it in the Choose Display group.
You can also change the placement method of the selected wallpaper. That is, you can choose to make the selected wallpaper stretch across all screens or duplicate the same wallpaper on each screen. Just click the bubble next to the option you want to use.
