Hi,

My brief,We have students under 2013-2 batch  now and we  send books to them according to their subjects( MSIT,MBA ect). Now  i am using delivery note where i have to issue it under customer name ( University A , University B  and C).

My question is, can i fix list of  several books in one Batch so that it can pull books name while selection batch ID only.

Hi Rabindra,

Batch feature is used for tracking a set of purchased/manufactured items from the stage of entry into the company to the stage of exit (sale).

In case one of the item is found defective, one could trace from which batch did the Item come and hence, investigate further. This is just one way Batch ID system can be used.

What you desire is completely different. From what I understood, you want to automatically pull a set of books when you select a University, so that you don't have to do a lot of data entry. This will require customisation as it is specific to your situation.

As a workaround, you can create one such Delivery Note by entering data manually and then use the copy feature to create similar Delivery Notes, with minimal changes.

If I have misunderstood your requirement, please try to explain it in more detail.

Thanks,
Anand.

Hello Anand,

Let me explain you, i want to pull items( Books) by Selecting Batch Id only and that will pull one set of books. For instance

Batch ID:- MSIT1ST-2013-1.   ( Books A, B, C ,D, E, F)
Batch ID:- MSIT2ND
-2013-2.   ( Books  B , D, A, N,K ) etc.
Batch ID:- EMBA2nd -2012-2
Batch ID:- MBASPL4TH-2011-2

Under 1st Bath Id:- There may be 10 set of books. What i have to do is to select University Ist and then Batch Id that will bring all my requirement then i manually enter quantity to be shipped.

I think this will clear you all.

Hello Rabindra,

You can use Sales BOM functionality to bundle all the books under one items. Please check following link to learn more about Sales BOM functionality.

Hello,
We are trying to manage Sales BOM, following instructions http://erpnext.com/manage-sales-bom
There is no information about Package Item Price (column Rate), it is always  0,00 (although there is a price for item).
How to use parent item in transactions concernig price?
Thank You,
Ferenc

Have you added price for the parent item in "Item Price" table in Item master?

Hello Nabin,
Following instructions I set up prices for Package Items in Price List. Goal is to have price for Parent Item based on rate and quantity of Package Items. Im I wrong? Otherwise I have to manually add sales prices of Package Items for Parent Item.
Thank you for your advice,
Ferenc

You have to mention sales price for parent item manually. Because it may be different from total value of packaged items. Also there can separate price lists for each packaged items.

Thank you for your replay.
Total value (sum) of packaged items could be default price for parent item. It could be also interesting to choose from price lists when going to determine the price of parent item from packaged items (in other words, packaged and parent item have same price list).
When new Package Item added, rate is always 0,00 (below quantity). What is the usage/meaning of that field?

Ferenc

Actually you are right, we should remove "Rate" column from "Package Items" table, as it is not used anywhere.

Please don't do that! If I may suggest you, just add a possibility to select price list (for packaged items) or it could be a default sales price list (selected in Selling Settings > Default Price List)
In this way calculated sales price (or manually modified) for parent item could be saved in the same price list (as an update).
Is there a possibility for this?

Regards,
Ferenc

Can you please raise an issue in github? For now I am deleting that column, we will add it again while implementing your suggestion.
