Unable to submit delivery note. Message: Negative stock

Question:
I have 10 quantity available of X item. While making delivery note for
5 units of X items, it indicates that "negative stock is not
available".

Answer:
This occurs in a scenario when posting date of delivery note is
earlier that that of purchase receipt date. This indicates, you are
making delivery note in Jan-10 but purchase receipt was made on
Jan-15. On Jan-10 there was no quantity of X item available in stock.

Please make sure you have received the X item before the posting date
of delivery note.

Please also note that the time of posting the delivery note is also
taken into consideration. Like if a Delivery note is being made on
Jan-10-2010 at 1400 hrs then the purchase receipt or item receipt
should be posted before this time.
