Custom Button

Hello i am trying to add an specific script to a custom button but i can't find a way to do it can someone explain me how can i do it.

Or send me to a page where i can learn it.

This custom button its going to call a WebService, it's that possible?

Check accounts/doctype/sales_invoice/sales_invoice.js

We have added custom button for Making Payment.
