A Minecraft client, often known as a hacked client, cheat client, or utility mod, is a modification to the game which offer modules, also known as cheats or hacks. These features are not in the vanilla form, or default form, of Minecraft. No clients are affiliated with Mojang, similar to most mods. As clients can give players an unfair advantage, the use of them is against the rules of most servers and will get users banned. On anarchy servers like 2b2t, however, using clients has been normalized, as most players use them.

In early 2b2t, hacks were not as readily available to the public as they currently are. People would either code the early clients themselves or get them from friends or sketchy websites. While historically, clients were only used by a fraction of the player base, their usage has increased over time. 4channer Luke2thebun was one of the first known players to use a hacked client, who did so in early 2011. popbob was also an infamous early user.

Many players used vanilla until after TheCampingRusher brought an influx of players to the server, causing the number of players using a client to gradually increase over time. Despite implicitly allowing cheating, 2b2t patches many cheats such as extremely fast movement hacks, to reduce lag on the server, but also patches vanilla things such as placing boats on land, while making vanilla Elytra flying and vanilla fishing less effective than normal, which are controversial topics on the server.

WARNING: If your computer knowledge goes as far as clicking radio buttons and pressing, "Install", in the installation wizard, take extra precautions when performing installations, or refrain from installing anything at all.

Do not, under any circumstances, open any links, let alone client download links, that were posted by someone in the 2b2t server chat, or in unaffiliated Discord servers. 2b2t is an anarchy server, do not trust anybody that you do not know.

So the other day I was using a hacked client on a server that allowed them for P.v.P. My game was staring to lag so I closed Minecraft and disabled them (switching back to 1.10.2.) But now when I click the play button it doesn't launch

I want to download Wolfram Hacked Client, but doing so will go against Mojang's Minecraft EULA. Are there any hacked clients that required you a patch an original .jar, similar to IPS rom patchers used in rom hacking?

I haven't looked at the actual download but the installation instructions say that you need to download the corresponding Minecraft version first, much like how Optifine and Forge require that you download the appropriate version before you can install them; as long as it isn't a standalone working copy it isn't illegally distributing the game (including small parts is allowed, as otherwise practically all mods would be illegal, hence why the EULA refers to a "substantial part" when referring to mods. Note that they say that "hacked versions" are not allowed to be distributed but they are referring to a pre-modified jar, not a "hacked client", which could really refer to any modified version, not something that calls itself such. Likewise, the forums allow "hack/cheat" mods as long as they aren't "designed for griefing" (which is admittedly a very gray area; many people use e.g. x-ray mods to locate player's bases on servers so they can grief them, even if that isn't stated to be a use of the mod).

If anything, sp614x, the creator of Optifine, should be notified since they do not allow you to distribute Optifine as part of a modpack (including a "hacked client", which is essentially the same thing under a different name, the "hack" part refers to the fact that they are usually intended to cheat/hack on servers, including the ability to bypass cheat detection, as mentioned on the main page for Wolfram).

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?

Forge is legal because it requires that you have the original jar. In fact, Forge doesn't have a jar at all. It just installs a .json [that uses the vanilla jar of a your version] and required libraries.

This doesn't matter for the purposes of this thread - ALL downloads MUST come from Mojang's servers, so sites like mcversions.net are perfectly fine as they just link to Mojang's download server, same for the Wiki providing direct links to the version files (though they do link to rehosted jars for a few versions, like Minecraft 2.0):
In order to ensure the integrity of the Game, we need all Game downloads and updates to come from an authorized source. It's also important for us that 3rd party tools/services don't seem "official" as we can't guarantee their quality. It's part of the responsibility we have to the customers of Minecraft. Make sure that you read through our brand and asset usage guidelines too.

I was referring to forum policy on uploading "hack/cheat" mods, which only have to say that they aren't intended to be used for griefing even if they can easily be used for that:
SMP "hack" and "cheat" mods or tools are allowed unless they are designed for griefing

-discussion-info/2601515-mapping-and-modding-rules
This is also similar to Mojang's own policy, possibly more restrictive since Mojang probably doesn't like any sort of mod/hack that could possibly be used for griefing/bypassing anti-cheats, even if that isn't a stated use for them (so a simple mod that shows your coordinates regardless of whether reduced debug is enabled could be seen as a violation since servers have a reason to hide it).

That said, if you just want to use some of Wolfram's features in singleplayer it is probably better to find the equivalent mods for them.

Disclaimer: Hacked Clients are clients made for Minecraft that offer cheats (known as hacks or modules) for players that are not part of the Minecraft's vanilla game. No hacked client website or company is affiliated with Mojang, similar to most mods. On most servers, using hacked clients is a punishable offense and may get players banned (by either admins or with an Anti-Cheat) from the specific server, depending on server's policies and rules. They can give players unfair advantages over others in mini games or gamemodes for things like combat and basic movement.

Since 2b2t is an anarchy server, which means almost nothing is off limits in terms of Minecraft, it allows for players to use these clients and are actually a part of everyday life on 2b. Since it is such a large part of regular day to day activity on the server, using clients are almost a must and not using one is essentially crazy. Any newfags should keep this in mind, and should be open to the frame of thinking that all players are using a hacked client on a daily basis. In fact, players on 2b have even coded their own hacked clients.

Most hacks on hacked clients are acceptable for use on the server however certain hacks, such as speed and flight, have limits to their usage or otherwise don't work in order for the gameplay to be fair. This is enforced by plugins on the 2b server itself. This is so that players don't get instantly killed by others, fly like in creative mode, gain server operator status through forceop, generate thousands of chunks every minute etc..
