Cloud Technical Architect
Location: Southborough, MA
Initial Contract Duration: 6-12 months, likely extension, possible contract to hire
Remarks:
Update on the Arch position - must have a Healthcare Application background, hands on and understand how to rewrite existing Apps in Cloud. “Refactoring.”
Responsibilities:
- Architect and design leading membership, claims, enrollment and healthcare solutions that support industry leading best practices in technology, performance and scalability
- Able to successfully manage interactions at a senior level within our Visiant/ikaSystems' teams, client's engineering, IT, and service operations as needed
- Responsible for the design of solutions, this includes a lead role in project discovery and definition workshops, creating scope and development estimates, and documenting requirements and designs
- Create and update application, integration, technology and information architectural diagrams utilizing tools like Vizio
- Evaluate, define, and when necessary prototype alternatives to determine the most appropriate approach for each solution
- Determine how to satisfy these requirements using existing platform and services, and where appropriate, define new services to fulfill the project's particular needs and make recommendations
- Assist In preparing functional specifications that can be understood by customers and internal development teams. Provide high-level, prioritized approaches to achieve business objectives
- Work with the product and professional services team members to estimate the work
- Provide direction and guidance, development oversight, and support to successfully deliver on time with quality
- To influence a broad audience to adopt a particular path and be respected as a thought leader
- To understand the broader implications of strategy across all business units, while visualizing the project-level implications
- To provide technical problem resolution to complex issues
- Contribute to on-going process and methodology improvements
- Work with cross functional teams such as engineering and product management to provide feedback and support the evolution of the product
- Map business capabilities and processes to information and applications
- Build System Context Diagrams
- Create Solution Architecture (blueprint) across business capability and application views that align with target state architecture and business plan prioritization
- Create project/program decision frameworks
- Ensure architecture governance with compliance of technology solutions with architectural patterns and standards
- Support road mapping with product owners and IT strategic planning
- Support business case development
You must have experience in either A OR B:
A) .Net and 1-2 years of Azure Architecture experience
OR if you don't have the .Net and Azure , then you MUST have experience with
B) Medicare / Medicare (Med Advantage)
Requirements:
- Experience with direct customer facing interactions/communications in a Consulting or Professional Services organization
- Excellent interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation
- Excellent planning, facilitation and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to understand the long-term (big picture) and short-term perspectives of situations
- Ability to translate business needs into solution architecture requirements
- Ability to estimate the financial impact of individual solution architecture alternatives
- Knowledge of key aspects of Visiant's business
- Basic knowledge of information principles and policies
- Understanding of application development methodologies
- Understanding of SOA, object-oriented analysis and design, or client/server systems
- Understanding of the enterprise's political climate and how to respond to the political challenges
- Experience in building target state architectures that detailing all functions and components (application, data, information and integration)
- Deep understanding of multi-tenancy, application codebase best practices and guidelines
- Has closely worked with Security, Data and Integration architects to develop robust, scalable re-usable application designs
- Experience with building mobile application architectures -- both responsive and native/hybrid
- Ability to create and build an enterprise application Inventory
- Knowledge of mapping cloud native applications to PaaS S/W and H/W layers
- Ability to pull architecture views consisting of all application interdependencies
- Has Architected Social and Content Collaboration solutions in the past
- Knowledge creating research notes, user guides and training materials for internal and external stakeholders for health insurance claims processing systems.
- Knowledge with direct customer facing interactions/communications in a Consulting or Professional Services organization.
- Ability to lead and work with geographically dispersed development teams
- Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies
When recruiting for this role I need people to either have:
· Significant experience in Azure native cloud, SaaS or .net application/platform development
· Significant tenure in Medicare (or health care) related software development to compensate his/her average expertise with Medicare domain knowledge
· Strong experience in simplifying application portfolio by architecting multitenant applications and introduced measures that improved scalability and/or reliability.
· Candidate displays deep understanding of business operating model concepts and can connect business outcomes/requirements with different projects.
· Strongly understands the roadmapping process and what steps need to be taken to move from the current state to the target state architecture.
