Candidates coming from large enterprises are not preferred, small-mid size orgs will be strongly preferred- true hands on architect.
Role Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Azure Cloud Architect to design, build, and operationalize a secure, highly available, and resilient Azure platform and application hosting environment from the ground up.
This role is foundation-first and execution-focused. The objective is to establish a production-grade Azure platform with strong networking, DNS architecture, disaster recovery, container hosting, CI/CD pipelines, security controls, and observability.
The environment supports critical workloads with PHI/PII data, requiring strict adherence to security, reliability, and operational excellence principles.
This is a build-and-own delivery role, not advisory.
This is a green field setup, and essentially not a large environment, very small footprint of Azure.
It won't take more than a few months to complete a well architected design & implementation.
Azure Platform Foundation
- Architect and implement Azure environment from scratch or stabilize and rebuild where required
- Define subscription strategy, resource organization, and naming conventions
- Implement hub-and-spoke network architecture for secure workload isolation
- Configure:
- VNets, subnets, NSGs, route tables
- Hybrid connectivity (VPN / ExpressRoute)
- Private endpoints for all critical services
- Ensure secure, scalable, and segmented network design aligned with enterprise best practices
DNS, Load Balancing, HA & Disaster Recovery
Implement Azure DNS (public and private) with strict elimination of IP-based failover dependencies
