The sharp end of the natural fiber balls is an emission point of negative air ions. As it is shaped like a ball, this gives a 360 degree air purification effect from the ball. One of the wonderful things about hiking through the forest or lounging at the beach is breathing in the clean, fresh air of nature. The air in these places not only smells great, but breathing it can make us feel energized and excited. What gives the air in natural places such good mojo? Negative ions! Also called anions, these are molecules that have become negatively charged due to strong natural forces such as sunlight, wind, or churning water. There is evidence that breathing air abundant with negative ions has a positive effect on our mood and our health. Doctors and scientists, who are studying the effects of negative ions, say that they can promote alertness and positive feelings in some people, and may help to increase oxygen to the brain. Research is ongoing to learn how to harness the use of negative ions to positively affect health.
Negative ion therapy refers to the practice of exposing yourself to negatively charged particles. This can be accomplished naturally through environmental exposure, or artificially by using an ionizing device.
The above research indicates that exposing yourself to the natural environment in general also exposes you to negative ions. Large natural areas in particular, like a state park or beach, contain large amounts of negative ions, according to 2018 research.
You may also be exposed to negative ions by using an ionizing device. Common devices include both air ionizers and grounding mats. But the extent to which these actually provide you with negative ions is uncertain.
Generally, the effect of negative ions specifically for depression is a topic that requires more research. Several small studies have demonstrated benefits, but there have been no consistent conclusions or recent research.
More recently, a small 2017 study examined the effect of negative ion exposure in 40 patients with seasonal depression. Positive changes in mood were reported, but were however attributed to the placebo effect.
An air purifier does not have the ability to create a sterile environment. The air in the apartment will still be natural and the purifier only gets rid of harmful components. The immune system will not be under stress at home, thanks to which it will be able to rest and gain strength. As a result, the body will be able to defend itself more effectively against viruses and bacteria outdoors.
Although you do encounter polluted air (on the street, at work, etc.) for most of the day, using a purifier at home still makes sense. People do spend a lot of time at home (all night, part of the day and weekends). Even this time can significantly help to improve their health.
Purifiers not only rid the air of harmful viruses, bacteria and fungi, but also, thanks to the ionizer, increase the concentration of negative ions, which are beneficial to health. They reduce the degree of fatigue, improve concentration and improve physical and mental well-being.
Unfortunately, the body cannot get used to allergies. When an allergy sufferer is constantly struggling with allergens, the body becomes unnecessarily exhausted. Therefore, it is better for allergy sufferers to encounter allergens as little as possible in everyday life.
This is not true. Ionizer air purifiers, based on the production of negative ions, produce only a negligible amount of ozone. Ozone production in purifiers must comply with the rules of the ČSN EN 60335-2-65 ED.2 (361045), standard, which stipulates a maximum permissible amount of ozone of 0.05 ppm.
The production of ozone by purifiers will not endanger even those who are sensitive to it (allergy sufferers and asthmatics). The World Health Organization states that these people experience difficulty breathing when the concentration of ozone in the air exceeds the limit of 160 g/m3. Household purifiers do not exceed the limit of 100 g/m3.
The problem is that the normal environment of city apartments and houses is not natural. Harmful substances from passing cars or factories penetrate into the apartment from the outside. In villages, the problem is solid fuel stoves, which release harmful substances into the air.
The company markets several water purification products, including the Model 1200 State-of-the-Art Commercial Rated Electrolytic Ionizer and the Model 1100 Automatic Purification System. The Model 1200, which purifies 15,000 to 45,000 gallon swimming pools, features a rugged and durable design to protect its solid-state electronics from moisture, corrosion, and harsh environments; simple operating controls; light-emitting diode displays for power, polarity, and anode status; self-cleaning anode design; and an ion test kit. Variations of the Model 1200 are available for even larger swimming pools that range from 45,000 to 125,000 gallons. The Model 1100 offers many of the same features of the Model 1200, but at a lower price, since it is designed to purify spas and swimming pools up to 25,000 gallons.
Outside of recreational use, the electrolytic ionizer has proven to be invaluable for industry, especially in the areas of heating, venting, and air conditioning, and where cooling towers are relied upon to remove heat from a stored water source so that the water can be recirculated and reused or safely discharged to a natural body of water, like a river. Currently, there are more than 15 million cooling towers in the United States alone. This number will continue to increase significantly with the construction of new commercial and industrial facilities.
