On Saturday 5/9/2026 volunteers collected a lot of trash in Mabel Davis Park that would have flowed downstream in the Country Club Creek to Roy Guerrero Park and then the Colorado River. Austin Parks Foundation organized this event as part of a state-wide program to reduce trash flowing into the Gulf:
