In May the Trash Free Gulf Campaign will have events everywhere in Texas to stop trash from flowing into Texas Rivers:

On Saturday, May 9, Austin Parks Foundation volunteers will be picking up trash around the pond in Mabel Davis Park as part of this campaign. Mabel Davis Park is the headwaters of Country Club Creek. Trash that flows into the pond at Mabel Davis Park from the Ben White culvert eventually stops in one of the other parks along Country Club Creek: the CCC Neighborhood Park, the CCC Greenbelt, Roy Guerrero Park, and finally the Colorado River Wildlife Preserve. We will assemble in the parking lot of Mabel Davis Park, at 3427 Parker Lane, and work from 9 AM to noon. Help to clean up the entire watershed by registering for this event:
