So, what's the point of having two separate plugins for this functionality?
Couldn't you just have Microtonic loaded as Multi-Out? (That way it would retain current settings without the need of saving a preset before replacing it)Steven Sauve 2021-08-26T15:07:01ZI mostly use the regular version and use the A/B when I need a specific output, so I'm OK with the current format. But your suggestion makes sense, as long as they added an output setting for each drum to the UI.Magnus Lidstrm 2021-08-29T15:38:42ZMicrotonic was 2 x stereo only in the beginning. Later (with version 2 I believe) we added the multi-output one. Back then I probably felt that it was best to offer these as two different plugins (instead of adding new outputs to the standard version) to make sure that nothing broke for our users. Today I regret it, as maintaining and testing two different plugin binaries is more work. But if we would remove the multi-output version today, we would definitely break things for our users.Manuel Senfft 2021-08-29T17:19:55Z- Magnus Lidstrm wrote:

I am using the multi out only anyway. If I had to reroute things or so, it would be ok as well. If this would be the only sacrifice to make future development of this plugin easier for you, I would totally support this. Speak for yourself, I don't want to reroute hundreds of projects. You mean you have hundreds of active unfinished projects and all use Microtonic? o-:Ploki 2021-09-17T09:53:55Zi generally expect bad stuff to happen when i open old projects. :) Magnus Lidstrm 2021-09-17T10:16:15ZWe have a policy of never breaking backward compatibility, so we will always support the multi-output version of Microtonic regardless of what (backward-compatible) changes we may do to the regular Microtonic version. If we would remove Microtonic Multi it's not just a matter of having to reroute. You would also lose all sound settings, patterns, and automation for these tracks in your song. We would never leave our users stranded like that.Christian F. 2021-09-17T10:19:44Z- Manuel Senfft wrote:You mean you have hundreds of active unfinished projects and all use Microtonic? o-:Yup. Yup. Not even kidding ;)You definitely should finish some tracks, before starting new ones from now on! :Dd-:Christian F. 2021-09-18T19:51:19ZWhile I agree with you it's not ideal to have too many unfinished projects - these are project-files I choose from semi-randomly for jamming live with others ;)Ploki 2021-09-20T08:40:03ZMaybe multi-out could be added to the main microtonic, having an output selector instead of "A/B", and MicrotonicMulti being hardwired to Ch=Output like its now?I usually need kick+snare+other, so two outputs is just a bit short, but i usually start splitting when i mix - and because MT and MT-Multi don't retain settings it means i need to save a preset, reload, open preset, re-do any mod mapping i might have.sometimes i don't bother and just load another instance anywayYou need to be signed in to post a reply
Hello everyone, I dont know if this idea is a viable or commercially reasonable one, but thinking about using Microtonic in my live presentations I thought it would be great to have a dedicated midi controller designed specifically for Microtonic. Essentially would be a hardware translation of the plug in interface. What do you think?Fredrik Lidstrm 2017-12-04T10:47:34ZHardware Microtonic would be awesome. Unfortunately not something we have time to do. I think the closest you get at the moment is something like this fan-made iPad Lemur template. -lemur-ipad-midi-control-update-version-of-microtonicNekz 2017-12-05T18:02:16ZThanks for answering Fredrik, and congrats for such a lovely and timeless plug in. Just to clarify, my idea was not a hardware per se but a midi controller, everything else would come from the plug in. Anyways... I was just tossing the idea without taking too many considerations.
Crowdfunding maybe?
well, I will use it on my live presentations anyways, it sounds awesome.
Udbhav Gupta 2017-12-06T21:20:20ZHave you seen Livid Instrument's Builder products? You should be able to make something pretty close to what you want with those pieces.Taupe 2018-01-10T20:58:11Z- Fredrik Lidstrm wrote:

-lemur-ipad-midi-control-update-version-of-microtonicbut, no, This more than awesome one (you know it)...Is for version 3.1 though...
Maybe creater Softcore is listening?? ;)Luis Bicho 2018-04-28T18:44:27ZI have created a Automap VST patch for my Novation Nocturn, to control Sonic Charge Utonic...(noou) 2018-06-28T16:49:45Z- Luis Bicho wrote:

What do you think? That's a great idea that would really add a lot to the experience of using microtonic! There are a couple of posts in the forum concerning mapping microtonic to the Arturia Beatstep Pro or Spark LE (a dedicated drum machine controller). That would be awesome already.
The Lemur template is fine, but it's always a bit cumbersome to set up things...You need to be signed in to post a reply
Definately a bug
It happens when the second slot was a alias instrument controlling an efffect .
Even after deleting the alias instrument and effect .,Renoise was still sending data to the first occupied slot ( microtonic ) when the deleted alias slot was selected .
So it kind of behaved like a ghost slot sending data to the wrong instrument
Edit , here are the steps to reproduce
Load microtonic in first instr.slot in renoise , and choose a pattern with multiple patterns , DO NOT enable chain function.
Select some pattersn withe the mouse cursor .
Now Select an empty instrument slot in renoise.
Bring up back the gui of microtonic ,and repeat step 1 ( manually change patterns with mouse cursor)
Now press keys A,B, C, result is that the pattersn are changed ( you might want oto change global octave between 3_5 ) while an empty instrument slot is selected
