Hence, the ifix received, does not apply to this VIOS level, as the fileset level installed is higher than the one the ifix was built for.
3 - Make sure there's no ifix already installed for the same component:
The "lssw" command list all fileset installed but also provides information for ifix at the very end of the output.
It means ifix IV92895s7a is installed on my VIOS. Unfortunately "$ lssw" does not provide more details on the ifix installed, so we have to check if one of the ifix installed lock our fileset "devices.pciex.df1060e214103404.com"
In this output "C" means the fileset is committed, and "E" means this fileset is ifix locked.
For our example the fileset "devices.pciex.df1060e214103404.com" is not ifix locked, then we should be able to apply an ifix on this VIOS.
But in this case our ifix for devices.pciex.df1060e214103404.com at 6.1.9.30 clearly does not apply, as we already have this files at an higher level.
Committing the already applied updates does not change the currently active version of a software product. It merely removes saved files for previous versions of the software product.
To commit last update :
In most case i would recommend to create a directory in "/home/padmin" where we'll store the ifix we want to install, if there's multiple ifix to install, we can put all of them in this directory. Just make sure the directory does not contain any old ifix before we add the new one to be installed.
From the "Operation Summary" we can see the install process completed successfully. As stated in the "ATTENTION" message, you should double check if the ifix requires a reboot, and plan it as soon as possible.
Before installing an ifix on a VIOS node in an SSP cluster, you first need to stop cluster services for this node.
To check if your VIOS is part of an SSP cluster, you can run the "cluster -list" command, which provides similar output :
In most case you won't need to remove an ifix, because they are build to be automatically removed when you perform an update which includes the final APAR for this ifix. But in some case you may need to manually remove an ifix (for instance when you want to install a multi-ifix including the one already installed).
Attention : In case your VIOS is part of an SSP cluster, please refer again to the "Consideration on SSP cluster".
The install requirement for SSP also applies for removal process.
To remove ifix, first check ifix label using "emgr -l" command, then check if reboot is required, uninstall the ifix, and reboot if needed :

WILL THE B-COMPAQ FIT 3 ACROSS BACK LIKE GRAPHENE?
B-Compaq ifix is our safest most compact car seat. It is designed to be short in rearward facing depth even in the smallest vehicles and also allow for side-by-side seat fitment. We understand that not all cars are the same, and have the tightest of spaces, you may consider Graphene or Brava for ultra-tight fits.
CAN YOU TELL ME MORE ABOUT ISOFIX INSTALLATION?
1. ISOFIX requires the user to apply tension to 2 ISOFLEX connectors + installation of top tether. Correct tensioning still requires additional force applied to the seat as well as multiple checks during installation.
2. The preferred position for rearward facing is in the centre seat of the vehicle. However, the majority of vehicles do not have ISOFIX anchorages in the centre seating area, therefore traditional seat belt installation should be used.
DO I NEED TO USE THE GATED BUCKLE TO SECURE MY B-COMPAQ IFIX?
All child restraints in the Australian market are required to pass Australian Standards without the use of gated buckles. Gated buckles can however be used to obtain a tighter fit to the vehicle if the preferred installation method is via the car seat belt (i.e not Isofix). B-Compaq ifix can be used with a gated buckle when installed with the vehicle seat belt.
CAN I USE A SEATBELT EXTENDER?
No. We do not advocate the use of aftermarket accessories other than Britax branded accessories. Should you have any issues with vehicle seat belt length we recommend seeing a professional installer.
MY SEAT IS FITTED FIRMLY, DO I NEED TO USE THE TOP TETHER?
Yes. You must always use the Top Tether. Refer to instruction Manual for an easy step by step guide.
THE SICT TOUCHES THE OTHER SEAT OR CHILD, IS THIS OK?
The SICT should only be wound out on the door side and should not interact with another passenger or another car seat.
DO I NEED SICTIF THE SEAT IS FITTED IN THE CENTRE POSITION?
No. This is what makes our B-Compaq ifix range so great and versatile.
Why? SICT is specifically designed to crumple on impact and disperse large amounts of energy at a controlled rate. These kindS of forces are only seen on the impact side of the vehicle so there is no need to deploy SICT unless it is adjacent a vehicle door.
IS B-COMPAQ IFIX SAFE IF I DON'T DEPLOY THE SICT?
Yes. The seat is certified with the Advanced SICT deployed and undeployed. For maximum protection unwind the SICT on the door side only.
WHAT IS CRUMPLE ZONE FEATURE?
Crumple Zone is a "crash" term. In a car it refers to the area of the car that crumples during an accident to help lower the crash forces during an impact. The Advanced SICT is designed to crumple and lower the crash forces that your child will feel in a side collision.
THE ARROW IS NOT FULLY VISIBLE IN THE RANGE, IS THIS STILL OK?
The arrow should not be completely hidden in rearward facing mode. The tip of the arrow should be within the blue wedge.
I HAVE A REALLY SMALL BABY, CAN I USE AN ADDITONAL COMFORT INSERT?
Yes. This product has been tested with the Newborn Comfort Insert (also known as the UNITY NEWBORN INSERT) which is available as an accessory. You can comfortably use this stacked with your B-Compaq ifix Insert or on its own.
HOW DO THESE PROVIDE MORE COMFORT?
If your vehicle has rear air vents in the back seat, the cool air can flow through B-Compaq ifix ventilation zones offering more comfort to your child in rearward facing.
HOW IS THE CLOSED PROTECTIVE SHELL SAFER?
The closed shell design provides enhanced shielding to ensure the child is contained within deeper side wings of the child seat. This creates an increased protective barrier between the child and the vehicle.
HOW DO I ACCESS THE INTERNAL HARNESS?
To access the yoke follow these steps;
1. Place the seat of a flat surface in a full upright position.
2. Press the harness adjuster button and raise the headrest to the highest setting.
3. Finally drop the head rest to the lowest setting. The Yoke should appear behind the seat base.
