Hi There,
I am the acquisitions manager at Saint Mary's University (Canada) and
I hope to use ERMes to store database coverage (date ranges, type of
access, backfile, front file, public domain, etc). For example we
have a Canadian consortia license for NRC press. We purchased the
backfile, beginning - 1950; we purchased the front file, 2011- 2013.
Between 1951 and 2011 access to NRC titles is open access for
Canadians via the public domain.

Has anyone put this type of information into ERMes? Where did you put
it?

Yesterday, I thought I would include all the titles in each package we
purchase so we could track the titles that our consortia price is
based on and track changes to the packages (titles moving in and
out). I am not sure if ERMes is the place to do this. Has anyone
done this type of thing? If you don't do it in ERMes, where/how do
you do it?

Thanks for your help!

Terri

Hi Terri,
I keep this information in the joindatabase and cost history form. In
the main form there is a field for Coverage Years, Access, and other
Notes and the subforms offter additional fields. Would that work for
what you need?

Hi Sally,
I'm trying that.  I think it will work - at least it will give me one place to look for all information.

Do you have any idea what "Mask/public URL (MetaLib, LibData, etc.)" means?  on the general notes/urls tab in all database information?  I'm not sure if i should try to fill this in.  We won't be using ERMes A-Z functionality.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Terri -

Our a-to-z list creates a "mask" url, so in ERMes we list both the direct link and the "mask" URL.  An example is:

If you don't use a system that creates mask URLs, there would be no need to use this field.

Hope that helps!
Jen
