Hey, I saw there was a firmware update for my Deonon AVRX4200 just a bit ago. Once the update started it gave the error "Connection Fail 0E". At this point restarting it or unplugging/replugging it just made the update process start over and the error return. The receiver is unusable in this state, stuck in a loop of errors.
At this point Denon has told me that their Tier 1 techs in NJ are going to work on it and see if this can be fixed in firmware. I don't have a timeframe but am pretty frustrated. I appreciate their incredible support but it's a downer.
I ran into similar issues after the most recent firmware update to my Marantz SR6008. Control through the Denon/Marantz app was failing as well. I contacted Marantz and they sent me information on how to perform a network reset. It involved a button sequence on the unit, not just the standard unplug/replug cycle. Since then everything has been fine.
Ik have a Marantz NR1608 with same issues. I just managed to get network control back without power cycle, by disabling and enabling network control. So it looks like something broke with latest firmware, i have version 3600-6184-6161-3085 currently installed.
I have Denon Ceol N-8 and today, after the automatic update of Denon firmware I cannot use Spotify anymore. It is no longer available on Denon. I have reset and initialized Denon and router, but still no Spotify option is available.
Software Updates: Using the receiver's network/internet connection, you can check for and update the latest firmware from the online Denon server. VisitDenon's Support Site for more details. The tested Denon AVR-E300 contained firmware version 9400-4654-5100 (as of 3/19/2013).
