Clarification needed.

I have just started reading the book and discovering that authors have done a rushed job when it comes to examples. Multiple examples have been clumped together and the problem statements and test cases leave a lot to be explained. e.g. ex 3-5 has multiple sub-problems, the statement for concatenate suggests that one 'has' to use help function but it is not clear why? I did it without using help. It does not say if the nested list needs to be flattened or not and I was hoping that at least the example can have a nested list and the result should show that as not flattened but sadly the results for concatenate and flatten look exactly the same.

I sincerely hope that authors clean it all up and bring out another edition.

Thanks for your feedback. I hope to work on the next edition of the book as soon as we've completed the one on OTP, currently in the making: http://shop.oreilly.com/product/0636920024149.do?intcmp=il-prog-books-videos-product-intsrch_erlang_ct

Hi Francesco,

In the second edition of “Erlang Programming’ It will be interesting to include a web application example using the Cowboy web server (since it’s gaining more and more importance), Jquery and HTML5.

Just a thought.

Regards,

Mohamed
