it has been a long time since we communicated on our consolidated
approach for erlang packages last time. I wanted to touch base and see
what's our current situation and what should we do next.
First of all, it'd be interesting to learn more about CEAN 2.0 &
Ciconia release plans — are they going to be released soon are you
still working out details on how they can interoperate better.
Then, I think it will be good to finally see what can be done with the
packages intake problem. Right now I have a backlog of about 80
packages at agner and I definitely need some help there. I will be
willing to show the procedure. It is not very complicated, it normally
takes me around 5-10 minutes per package unless there are some
complications.
Also, how about scheduling another call some time this month to try to
get a better grip on the whole pipeline as we've envisioned it
previously? This will hopefully help us to identify *specific* steps
to be taken.
Anyways, let me now what do you think about this.
Cheers,
Yurii
I'm completely stuck on other tasks as usual. I need to free 1 day to
finalyze CEAN 2.0 and its 500 packages. public repository is ready to
receive the initial commit.
we still need to sync with martin about the binary packaging convention.
what do you guys think about the .epkg i generates with CEAN ?
i sent you examples and explanations last month.
packaging with cean takes only 2mn/package, as the framework adapts
itself to each situation. why don't you write a small script that convert
cean's .pub to what you need already ?
>Also, how about scheduling another call some time this month
yes, but i'm 100% full in comming days

What is the agner intake process? This is one ongoing problem with
packaging systems and a point of issue with scaling. So it wouldn't
hurt for us to start a conversation around It I think.

Most of this process is outlined at
https://github.com/agner/agner/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md, however
the "maintainers" process is not documented anywhere. I am thinking to
put up some documentation on this as I am trying to invlove more
people into this on a regular basis.
I will post an update here once that piece of documentation is there.
