Hi guys,

Wanted to get the ball rolling on the next user group, which if we are
to honour the tradition of using the last wednesday each month, would
take place on november 30th. woogas office is available if we want to
host it here. Maybe Timos office also is available?

Anyone want to give a talk? :)

Regards
Knut

Hey,

our office is available as usual. Maybe it makes sense to alternate
between locations?

Regards,

Timo

Just a short reminder that it would be great to have some talks.

Possible topics could also include basic stuff since most of the
attendees seem to be fairly new to the language.

So basic erlang stuff like list comprehensions, sockets, unit test,
releases, conventions, etc.

Other topics could be about common libraries for common problems like
ibrowse, jiffy etc.

These talks could maybe have an extended lightning talk character (10/15
minutes) instead of a full blown talk.

Of course 30 / 45 minute talks are also highly appreciated!

Any takers? :)

Hi,

I could do a talk on some basic Erlang stuff if anyone is interested.
Suggested topics:

* How to write FizzBuzz (from scratch to full solution)
* How to solve some simple Project Euler problems
* Recursion, list comprehensions, data types, etc
* How to use the shell to compile and run code

Very practical stuff.

Sounds like a great idea and I'd love to hear about, well, all of
those topics.

Especially project euler.

+1

other topics i'd be interested in are:

- practical introduction to dialyzer
- practical introduction to the debugger
- practical introduction to unit testing
- environment specific configuration of OTP apps

Since our last meeting I've also deployed two erlang apps for production
and although I'm still really at a very early erlang stage I could maybe
talk about how to build an OTP app with rebar or talk about the apps and
what they do in general. That would probably be a bit embarrassing but
maybe I get out of it with some good tips for improvements :)

I built a Apple Push Notification Provider and an Apple In-App Purchase
Validator.

I would also like to hear about any of these topics. OTP and rebar would interest me, too.

And while we are at talk wishlists, does anybody have experience with mnesia?

I also like Knut's suggestions. Sounds both like a good introduction and a great refresher.
Hadn't used rebar for my Erlang projects (unfortunately haven't had an Erlang project in the last 2,5 years), so I would be interested in this as well.

And many thanks to Knut for again volunteering for giving a talk :)!

Hi guys,

Wooga is having a trainer from Erlang Solutions over for a course from
Thursday December 1st to Saturday. The guy has a really sweet talk on
Erlang vs. C++ at Motorola which he could give if we move the user
group to Thursday. We will have a classroom setup for the training,
which we could use for the user group.

What do you guys think?

Regards
Knut

Hi all,

I'd also be interested in attending the UG for the first time, if
you'll have me!

Sounds brilliant. Not sure I can make it since I'm not in Berlin at the moment.
Who will be at Wooga from ESL?

Cheers,
Ómar

Looking at lanyrd.com I notice the meeting is scheduled for Dec 1st. My calendar tells me it should be today. Who's wrong?
