Withoutmore info, we would need to see your install logs. Please follow the instructions at the following link to download our support tool, run it, and attach the file it generates to a direct message to me.

The last thing the tool does before exiting is explain the password and tell you what it is. The password is "M@lwarebytes", and it exists only to prevent e-mail systems or other online storage from potentially blocking the file due to malware, as one of the functions of the data it collects is to identify potential undetected malware on the system. The password prevents the file from being intercepted, unzipped, and scanned in transit.

You do not need to unzip the file in order to share it with me. Simply send the zip file itself. You're free to open the file to look at what it contains before sending, which is why we make sure to provide you with the password.

We've noticed a number of people on Ventura having this problem, seemingly due to a bug in Ventura relating to Installer not having the needed permissions to open the file. I believe this is what's happening on your machine as well.

I want to install Malwarebytes to run along Windows10 on my computer. But after downloading it, when I try to install, Microsoft Store comes on the screen and informs me that Malwarebytes is not an approved product from the Microsoft Store and prevents me from installing the Malwarebytes app.

To increase security and performance, Windows 10 in S mode runs only apps from the Microsoft Store. If you want to install an app that isn't available in the Microsoft Store, you'll need to permanently switch out of S mode. There's no charge to switch out of S mode, but you won't be able to turn it back on. If you're blocked from switching and your device belongs to an organization, check with your administrator. Your organization can choose to keep all devices in S mode.

Windows 10 S has never really made any sense to me other than for schools, and maybe some organisations.

Why it's being sold to the public, who can fairly easily switch out of it, seems odd?

(Maybe so that your non tech savy relatives can't mess it up?).

Hi Erego, go to bottom left and click Start (looks like a small flag) then left click on the cog icon "Settings" and it will open up another menu, left click the one called "Apps" and it should look like this.

Thanks, Spinoxin! But for some reason, that route you suggested does not bring up on my computer the page you have shown here. If I use search, a default apps page appears. i am sure the page you have screenshotted is there somewhere. I will look again as soon as I find the time ( I m currently working double shifts). Can you just finish your suggestion?I will go back and look at it.

You should then get a screen that at the top includes this, note that it says here 'The Microsoft Store only (recommended)' - if yours says the same then click on the down arrow and a list of 4 options will pop up

This one is a AMD E1 processor. They do not even get any faster with a SSD they are so slow. In my shop I refuse to work on them any more because whatever you do to them SSD, max ram nothing helps. I wont waste my time and the clients money on those. I can sell someone a I5 8gig 256 SSD refurb business class laptop for 3-400 USD.

To save attachments, please click the link as shown below. You can click and drag the files to this bar or you can click the choose files, then browse to where your files are located, select them and click the Open button.

I am having the exact same issue. I did a clean reinstall and now it restarts two times before saying my computer is unable to install. This just popped up in the last 24 hours after I noticed my malware protection was also off.

Please have lots of patience with the tool. The first phase is a cleanup and does require a Windows Restart.

After the Restart, it may take 2 - 3 - 4 minutes till the Support tool screen shows up. Please be patient and have faith. Wait for it, whatever it takes.

The 2nd phase is where it offers to do a new Install.

Your logs show that you are running Kaspersky. The latest version of Kaspersky is known to have problems with Malwarebytes. Please try temporarily disabling Kaspersky and then installing Malwarebytes, and if that works, then once Malwarebytes is installed, disable the Ransomware Protection component in Malwarebytes as it is known to cause system performance issues when used alongside Kaspersky's latest version. You can disable Ransomware Protection by right-clicking on the Malwarebytes tray icon near your system clock and clicking where it says Ransomware Protection: On and then click Yes if prompted by User Account Control.

I did use the uninstall/reinstall tool. When it tried to reinstall it would restart the computer twice like some1 mentioned and on the third attempt says there was an error and it can't be installed. I then tried to use the download link from the site and it netted the same results.

The tool doesn't detect any sort of Kaspersky product, i used this product when i was removing Kaspersky as my licence for it finished in October and i've been running Malwarebytes + Windows Defender combo. There's no Kaspersky files on my PC.

+1 I am having identical symptoms to yours. So far I have downloaded and tried the offline installer with the same results. Shutting down the computer instead of restarting got rid of the two (without warning) restarts, but also failed to complete the installation, lol.

Well the automated response wins this time, running the support tool did the trick, and all of the protections are on again. There is an exclamation mark on the tray icon for unknown reasons but that's another matter.

I can't install malwarebytes too saying the same from this topic from him. I'm nervous to my pc because I can't remove the malware or virus that may see my sensitive passwords. I dont know what to do!.. they said this is the antivirus who can only remove it but still not sure.. waiting seems to be a lot of worries if you cant say when this issue will be done from installing. This is my question to developers when this bug problem installation fails will be done so we can install??

Hi @horizon1205,

Your installation issue appears to be networking-related. A timeout is occurring when attempting to download some of the packages used during the installation.

Are you aware of any networking-related issues in your environment?

You can try the Malwarebytes offline installer. It can be downloaded from here: _offline

I uninstalled Malwarebytes before installing Bitdefender because I was prompted to do so during the Bitdefender installation. Now I would like to reinstall Malwarebytes if possible because I still have a 1 year subscription. First can this be done safely without damaging my Bitdefender installation and if so how should I modify the settings in both programs so they have minimal impact on each other. I would like to use malwarebytes to only run one time random scans and plan to turn off it's active protection features.

For years, this has been an ongoing desire on the old forum as well as here. So your desire to run both is not something new :) Some have gotten MB Premium to work alongside BD, and I know you have a license for it, but it is not "sanctioned" by BD and the Mods here. So if I'm going to help here, I will always side with them regarding this topic.

Even if you turn some of the modules off, are there still running background processes that could be competing with, slowing down BD? Maybe, maybe not, but if you're going to turn off those competing, overlapping with BD modules, why not just use the Free version and once in a while run a manual on-demand scan? But again, reading the above post by Alexandru is informative and to be considered :)
