Justrecently picked up boostrap studio, what a great program. I am however, stuck trying to figure out how to get the preview mode to work on my android cell (galaxy note 5) and also my ipad. I have connected both via wifi to my network, and have enabled preview in my laptop, but when I try to view the url it gives me, it just times out on both devices.

Perhaps I didn't explain myself well enough, but I was under the impression that the preview feature is somewhat akin to browsersync. I have checked out the link you sent me, and that link suggests to me that I should be able to "preview" on tablet and cell devices. If I have this wrong, and the only way I can "preview" my work on a cell phone or tablet is to publish it to the cloud, then the preview function is essentially useless.

If your cell or tablet is connected to your home network through a router, then you should be able to view the BSS studio preview by typing the preview IP address generated by BSS into the browser's address bar on the device in question.

For example, if I open a site in BSS and click preview, it will open on my computer in my default browser (Chrome) using the local IP 192.168.1.3:8000 . If I open a browser on my phone when it is connected via my wi-fi router, and type the same IP address into the address bar, I can see the BSS studio preview in my phone's browser. However, if my phone is connected to the internet via my mobile provider's 4G service, typing in that same IP address will return a page-not-found error.

Yes, that is exactly what I'm doing. I'm using the local IP on other devices (tablet, phone) that are connected via Wifi to my network (all 3 devices connected via wifi to same network) but the url just times out on phone and tablet.

on the top menu, you should open the 'setting' tab. in there, the first tab is the preview tab. you need to check to activate the server once per session. once it is activated, you can open and sync your work on the browser or the mobile through the preview button at the top right corner.

I bought bootstrap studio because I wanted to save time making some themes for websites and parting them together. It seems to be harder to accomplish this when the application gives too much I can't find a navbar(with nothing in it and not already having settings). I find some of the restrictions are making me want to just go back to coding. As I come from just coding the applications I'm looking for more control. You allow The adding for basic elements like

-Navbar locked to light and medium. I want it to be small and dark so It looks like "(navbar navbar-light navbar-expand-md) navbar-dark bg-dark navbar navbar-expand-sm". So I have two styles to my navbar. So now I have to test my application on every browser to check and make sure it grabs the correct style. Bootstrap 4

These are the main things I use in my website design. But if anyone else has more things where you are writing over the existing code or it is not possible. Please mention it. Also if it is Bootstrap 4 vs 3 cause a number of differences between versions.

They are pretty comprehensive and can do what you need. For having a button with only the "btn" class though, there is no easy way to do this currently, apart from converting to HTML. We can add a "None" option to the Button Style dropdown in the next release, so that only "btn" will remain.

Also add a None option to the button would work. Calling it default(since it is the default style if you don't add one) would make sense. I'm personally using that style more often then the blue one for the designs I make.

I tried the div thing and it distorts the button and makes it more work then it is worth. I would prefer that the team builds the solution like Martin said they could do. The best option I use is to edit it out by converting to html before uploading it. But that gets really tedious very fast. I made this to find things that people do to work around(waist time) the software that is supposed to save them time.

Thanks for pointing out that "locked" status indicates that they can be edited from the Options panel on the right. I was getting confused when trying to edit a Collapse element that includes a btn-primary class that I wanted to edit to include my own custom CSS classes.

Currently I use Bootstrap Studio to design my site then use a text editor to insert the PHP code. The issue with that is if I need to update my site design in bootstrap studio my PHP code is not there and have to reexport the code then use the text editor to add the PHP code all over again. This means sadness because I love bootstrap studio.

If there is to a way maybe the developers can add a edit raw code button that lets you edit the code in raw form with the editor you select or open the folder the file is in to edit it manually to insert PHP etc. then after you save it then return to bootstrap studio and click another button that will load code from raw edit and import the changes to bootstrap studio so it saves the changes to the .BSdesign files.

You can put in the settings a advanced editor option that has to been enable the import from raw code file button not to confuse bootstrap only users. But honestly have not seen or found a bootstrap only developer yet!

Sorry but my English comes from Google.I believe, to interact BS with php, should be as follows:-1-Create a project with an IDE any (I use NetBeans)2-make your BS project and export it to www-your project (if you use Wamp or htdocs if using Xampp)3-include in your php project the index.html from the BS exported with the include_once4-run the IDE project and you will see in the browser your BS project working. 5-my index.pxp was like that:-SYSTEM X

And as Cris said, it only works after exporting. It is a solution because there is always the need to export. It is solved the problem of treating buttons, forms and other things that may depend on PHP. The HTML part of a button submit, for example, has to sit in Custom Code too, in HTML....

It would be nice to have the to save the file as HTML or PHP. it will still run the same as normal apart from the c0de will error. but that's OK. it would save a lot of work at the final test stage.this is the major let down of Bootstrap Studio.

It would also be nice to be able to use an external webserver so you could see your design progress while you are building it, complete with the rendered PHP Auto refreshes of course would be somewhat harder.

I see bootstrapstudio already tries to do this by commenting out any php code so becomes unfortunately it does not do this for php within an elements attributes therefore rendering breaks for example

I'm testing this for embedding Angular within my BSS file and it works very well using a PowerShell script on export to manipulate the contents of the BSS export, the big plus over editing afterwards is I can (hopefully) do all of my editing within BSS and simply "export".

The Blocs Forum is one of the best you will find! The Forum has all levels users. Everyone is so willing to help each other and share many cool items. And @Norm, as busy as he is, has always been there for us.

I built 2 significant sites with Bootstrap studio earlier this year. It is more flexible to use than Blocs, but Blocs is much faster to work in. Since I use OctoberCMS Blocs for me is a no brainer. Just a little more copy and pasting moving Bootstrap Studio into OctoberCMS. I only started with Blocs in version 2, and so far loving the development that is happening with it, 3 is great. Looking forward to the future of Blocs.

I have no experience of Bootstrap studio, but Blocs 3 runs rings around Blocs 2. It takes some time to understand the big jump in new features, but my workflow is massively faster and more flexible now.
