The software measures the brainwaves and provides feedback to the patient in the form of a puzzle, game, or even a movie that is displayed on a computer screen. The more normal the brainwaves are, the quicker a puzzle solves itself, the game advances, or the movie is brighter. This is the major difference between Braincore Therapy and more conventional forms of neurofeedback.

ADD/ADHD ranks among the most widespread neurological disorders among American children. It is estimated to affect up to 7 percent or as many as 5 million children at any one time. These statistics translate into at least one child in every classroom in the United States.

I had been dealing with a bit of anxiety. Using the Braincore therapy feedback I was able to train my brain to react differently to the things that caused the anxiety. It has been two years since my treatment amd I am doing great!

One of the main areas of treatment involves children with ADHD. The braincore therapy encourages these children to focus. A recent study that was conducted at the Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center suggests that a version of braincore therapy, which encouraged kids with ADHD to pay attention to images on a computer screen, had lasting benefits. The virtue of the therapy is that it is non-invasive, does not involve the use of drugs, and does not have any side effects.

BrainCore Therapy is a form of Neurofeedback, a fascinating treatment that is backed by more than 40 years of university based research studies. Until recently the technology and equipment necessary to perform neurofeedback could only be found in research labs. Now, in the last five to ten years advancements in the field have allowed trained BrainCore clinicians to offer this incredible form of therapy to the general public.

Though the BrainCore technology is quite complex, the training activity is simple, painless, drugless and non-invasive. Surface electrodes are placed on the scalp and brain wave activity is transmitted to the computer software. Auditory and visual feedback is provided instantly, so that the patient sees and hears representations of their brain in action.

The patient is instructed to observe the auditory and visual feedback and allow the nervous system to reset itself based on that feedback. As the nervous system reorganizes itself based on this instantaneous information, the patterns begin to normalize. Over the course of 10 to 20 training sessions, neuroplastic modifications result in the permanent alleviation of the symptoms.
