another shortcut for Ctrl+G

Hi guys,

there is an issue opened about this topic.

I know that in Emacs ESC key has a special meaning but what about
using ESC as an equivalent for Ctrl+G?
The first times I used Emacs, like any other average user, I always
pressed (unsuccessfully) ESC to cancel a command : )

The common people will use ESC while the skilled ones Ctrl+G.
