Matt,

what do you think of Alt+2 for delete-window?

currently, it's Alt+0. It was that mostly due to gnu emacs default
with the 0 key. This one was never really well thought out.

am thinking, Alt+2 would be much better, in sync with alt 3 and 4, and
s for switch pane focus. All on left hand.

i think if we change one key once a year, for something that's clearly
better, this would be a good candidate.

I agree abouthf he Alt+2.  Also, I still use beginning of file/end-of-file quite often.  Could we bind thess to Alt+n (for beginning of file) and Alt+Shift+n (for end of file).  It would match the Alt+h and Alt+Shift+h binding.  If I do this, I will bump the version and add backward comapatability for those who do not want to change their habits.

Changing keys without prior knowledg was always a frustration of mine with ergoemacs.  I wish I could figure out a way to inform the user on upgrade about the new keybindings.  Perhaps before we implement this, we can have a way to inform them when they upgrade. One way is to start saving the currently implemented version the customize variable.  After saving these versions, if the version change, inform the user about the changes and ask if they wish to try out these new keys or stick with the old key-bindings.  How does that sound?

Sounds good. Nice one. I could use that as well.

That looks like a excellent plan too! Thank you for all these really powerful features.
