This position is located in the Health Systems Section of the School
of Population Health based in University of Auckland Tamaki Innovation
Campus. The School includes academics with a wide range of backgrounds
including health policy, health management, public health,
epidemiology, social and community health, health promotion and other
fields. Non-New Zealand residents are likely to require a work visa.
Job description
The position requires teaching undergraduate and postgraduate
students, as well as supervising masters and PhD candidates. The
appointee will play an important role in the development of research
within the recently established National Institute for Health
Innovation as well as having the opportunity to establish their own
research programme according to their particular expertise.
Requirements
PhD in economics or health economics
Good quantitative analytical skills
Knowledge and experience in economic evaluation
Proven ability to secure competitive research funding
Track record of research published in leading peer reviewed journals
Ability to work independently while at the same time being willing to
contribute to a multi-disciplinary, collaborative environment
supporting the research of other groups.
Capacity to mentor and supervise junior researchers
Commitment to collegiality
