Third Law Interactive's Kiss Psycho Circus- The Nightmare Child is based on famous comic book writer Todd McFarlane's monthly comic "Kiss: Psycho Circus". Kiss: Psycho Circus chronicles the adventures of an unusual traveling circus. In the video game adaptation of the comic book we find that the members of Kiss waging war against evil. Evil takes the shape of a child, The Nightmare Child. The Nightmare Child is an unborn baby whose heart is full of evil and corruption. Evil and corruption was spread through the four elements; Earth, Wind, Water, and Fire. Each member of Kiss must individually clear these realms of evil. And when you think about it who else is more suited for the task than a bunch of middle aged rockers, who wear more make up than a drag queen.
Kiss Psycho Circus is almost 100% a single player game. Multiplayer support is included in the game, but until a patch is released that fixes all of the problems with multiplayer then I would recommend avoiding it like the plague. The problem with KPC's multiplayer is that every other FPS else has better support and offers more entertaining game play. The Multiplayer mode has some unique characteristics. Playing on one of the 4 maps available I found it incredible easy to kill my opponent with one well placed shot. Weapons and armor are readily available. The layout and quality of the maps vary. On the First Map I played, I noticed that my opponent and I both managed to fall into different pits that were both seemingly impossible to get ourselves out of. Having a pit which is impossible to get out of was a little nerve racking and resulted in us having to restart the game on numerous occasions. Other reported problems with KPC's multiplayer mode are severe lag, and an absence of servers. While I didn't experience any lag while playing a LAN game, I could not find any external servers for this game. In fact finding a multiplayer game is a game in itself. Without Gamespy support fans of KPC have resorted to posting forum messages at www.kisspsychocircus.com stating when they will be hosting a game. However, with a patch designed to remedy these woes KPC might yet turn out to have a decent multiplayer mode after all. However, if you get into Kiss Psycho Circus knowing that there is a non-existent multiplayer mode you'll be pleasantly surprised with the addictive fun that single player mode has to offer.
Wicked Jester, a band of four, are headed for a Friday night gig at The Coventry, a rundown dive outside of town. They arrive only to find the parking lot deserted, the club seemingly dead. The band's members: Pablo Ramirez, Andy Chang, Gabriel Gordo and Patrick Scott, stepping from their van, are startled by a voice from the shadows. She offers them four tickets to a circus -- tonight's the grand finale! Having nothing better to do, the four accept and the nightmare begins.
