The WhatsApp Blue tick feature refers to the double blue checkmarks that appear next to a message, indicating that it has been delivered and read. Some users may want to hide this feature and use WhatsApp without it. You are also provided with the WhatsApp Blue Tick-off option. You can set it as per your wish.

Consistency across Meta services: One of the primary motivations behind this change is to create uniformity across Meta's ecosystem. With Meta's various services like Facebook and Instagram using blue verification badges, aligning WhatsApp with the same color scheme helps in strengthening the brand identity and user recognition across all platforms. It's part of Mark Zuckerberg's "Meta Verified" push.

Combatting misinformation and scams: The blue tick has historically been associated with authenticity on social media platforms. By introducing it to WhatsApp Business, Meta aims to enhance trust and credibility. This change will help users distinguish between legitimate businesses and potential scams or misinformation, which can be crucial in the era of digital security and privacy concerns.

Enhancing business profiles: WhatsApp Business has been instrumental in connecting businesses with their customers. With the blue tick, verified business profiles will stand out more prominently, increasing their visibility and reliability.

Increased trust: The blue tick will signify the weight of Meta behind your WhatsApp Business account. This signifies trustworthiness, which can lead to increased customer trust in your verified business profile. As you know, customers are more likely to engage with businesses they see as legitimate and secure.

As business news goes, this is not groundbreaking news that will upset too many people, but it's interesting all the same. Now you know your green tick will likely turn blue, at least there will be no surprises when it happens.

It would be wise to define the Blue WhatsApp Plus, about which we are currently speaking. While blue is undoubtedly a color, the developer overused the name due to the vast number of features that come with this particular version of WhatsApp.

Yes, no matter how much you want to hide from those annoying voice clips from an aspiring singer in your distant family or friends, WhatsApp on its blog clearly states that the blue ticks are not compatible with voice clips.

What this means in simple words is that if you want to find if someone is online or not, and if that someone is reading your messages or not, all you have to do is send a short -- 1 second will do -- voice message. This also means that if you want a confirmation that your message has been read, or in this case listened, you should send a voice message.Discovered a little design error on whatsapp.

If someone you're chatting with has turned off read receipts, send them a voice note. Even a one second one will do. If they open it, the ticks will turn blue.

As for the people who have turned off the Read Receipts, you should be vary of voice messages. If you don't want to broadcast whether you have read the message or not, ignore the message. WhatsApp read receipt does not work for audio clips but the ticks appear only when you have heard the audio clip. Do not play the message and simply delete it. This will not send any blue ticks on the other side and you can have a peaceful Sunday.

One of the primary features that WhatsApp introduced years back was the Blue ticks, which lets the sender know if the receiver has seen the message or not. The moment the ticks of a particular message turns blue, it reflects that the receiver has read the message.

Back when the feature was introduced, the chat app faced a lot of criticism for violating the privacy of the people who did not want the sender to know whether they have read the sent message or not, for whatever reason that may be. To those concerned users, WhatsApp also incorporated the option to disable the blue ticks, or the read receipt option.

Keeping the read receipt option disabled, the app ensured the receivers of the messages would not alert the sender whether he or she has read the message. There could be myriad reasons to switch off the blue ticks feature, but on the other hand, it can also prove to be upsetting to the sender who is awaiting for a reply assuming the receiver would read the message sooner or later.

However, there is a trick to work around this feature to know if the message is read even with blue ticks turned off. What's more? The receiver would not even come to know if you are able to see if the messages you sent are being read or not.

However, the trick remains intact. Despite the read receipts being disabled, the voice notes sent over personal chats do not support the feature of blue ticks tuned off. So, every time you send a voice clip over, you will be able to see its ticks turn blue once the receiver hears it. This trick is useful to know if your messages are being acknowledged o not, but it can prove to be extremely annoying after a while. You can even long-press the voice clip message and go to its Info to know the time it was read at. Note, the voice clip message will only show blue ticks after it has been heard by the other person.

Next to the voice message, there is displayed a small microphone. I have messages marked with a blue microphone, others are marked with green microphones. Accordingly, also the slider for the message playback is either colored green or blue.

Much to the chagrin of its users, WhatsApp quietly introduced read receipts (letting people see exactly when a message is read, not just delivered) earlier this month. The app always showed one tick mark when you sent a message, which changed to two grey ticks when it was delivered. Now, the app shows two blue ticks when the recipient has read your message

This feature was rolled out without an update to the app itself. This means that there was no privacy setting to disable read receipts when the feature was rolled out. The lack of this basic feature in WhatsApp really ticked us off, and we had promised that we'd be back with a tutorial on how to disable WhatsApp blue ticks as soon as it was possible. True to our word, here we are now that WhatsApp has unveiled this feature for Android.

Here's how to get rid of those annoying blue ticks in WhatsApp - but if you do this, then you won't be able to see the receipts either. If you want to check when other people see your messages, then you need to allow them to see read receipts from you. For now, this is only possible for Android users, and only if you manually update the app via the WhatsApp website. WhatsApp typically releases updates first via its website, and then rolls out the update for Android's Google Play store, followed by updates for other platforms, so the update will be available for all devices soon.

That will disable the blue ticks on WhatsApp. As we noted above, feature isn't available on other platforms or on Google Play as yet, but now that this feature has appeared on the official WhatsApp apk, we can hope that an update will bring it to all platforms. We will update this article when that happens. Until then, you can head to our How To section for more tutorials.

The one grey tick usually disappears after a few moments, though it will likely remain for longer in WhatsApp group chats. This is because certain members of the group may have their phone turned off or no connection to the internet.

WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, is reportedly in the process of replacing the familiar green verification badge with a blue checkmark for verified channels on the Android platform. This alteration will also extend to verified businesses, as reported by WABetaInfo.

Furthermore, it appears that Meta intends to establish a consistent visual identity across all its applications, as the verification checkmark is already blue on Instagram and Facebook. By transitioning the colour of the WhatsApp verification badge to blue, the report suggests that Meta aims to enhance brand consistency across its platforms. The blue checkmark for verified channels and businesses is currently in development and will be accessible in a future app update.

In a group chat, the second check marks will appear when all participants in the group have received your message. The two blue check marks will appear when all participants in the group have read your message.

If users, however, wish to read messages without the sender receiving a blue tick, while not wanting to turn off read receipts, an easy way would be to enable Airplane mode and then read the message. This will prevent WhatsApp from updating the status of sent messages.

Certain third-party apps on Android (including BlueWords and Fancy Text) have the ability to send blue-colored text in WhatsApp messages. This is something that is exclusive to WhatsApp for Android. iOS users can neither create, nor read such messages written in the specific blue font.

"If you see two blue check marks next to your sent message, then the recipient has read your message. In a group chat or broadcast message, the check marks will turn blue when every participant has read your message."

WhatsApp has been steadily making small updates for years in all parts of its messaging app. Just recently, it added with the latest beta the ability to search for terms within its update notes to narrow down exactly what has changed in new versions. Meta, the owner of Facebook and Instagram, purchased WhatsApp in 2014, though the encrypted messenger's development trajectory has largely remained unchanged. In the latest beta update, however, we may see more assimilation between Meta's properties, as a very familiar blue checkmark has appeared on some verified WhatsApp Channels and businesses.
