Hello Friends,
I hadn't been writing in a while because I felt as though there wasn't much to report.
A couple days ago, the administrator for my main specialist sent an email asking if I was willing to attend a conference and talk to a guy from a big pharmaceutical company that is researching medications to alleviate some of the difficult symptoms associated with Cushing's disease.
The man phoned me yesterday morning.
He invited me to a conference in ZURICH Switzerland.
This was yesterday morning.
I told him that I didn't have a passport. I made some calls and jumped through some hoops and look, now I am going to attend something called Pituitary Patient Advocacy Meeting That is happening in Zurich this weekend.
I just looked at the amount of money these people are spending to send me there first class.
Wow, very exciting.
They want me to talk to people and tell them what it is like to have a pituitary tumour.
There is a woman with Agromegly (an associated disorder) and me from Canada.
There is an association of Rare medical diseases that apparently needs a person to talk to researchers/scientists/doctors and medical professionals about what I have experienced. It all looks interesting.
While I am in Zurich for a couple days, I will meet with my friend Denis, who I haven't seen in decades. He used to live in Toronto and now lives in a little chocolate-making village (!) outside of Zurich.
I didn't have a passport. They didn't think I would be able to make it happen. I talked to people all over the world to make the arrangements.
We worked around everything and I am picking the passport this afternoon.
Kim Breland will borrow my car for the weekend. But first she will drive with me to the passport office then to the airport.
I love how this is working out. I have a very good feeling about this trip. Hope you do too.
It is all very wonderful.
Since I feel good, I thought I would let you know.
I will update you when I return.
Much love to you,
Erella
