Now with a different wallpaper for the lock screen, I can go to the app and choose the wallpaper image and it now gives me an option to replace either the home screen or both the home screen and the lock screen.

Yesterday I updated my Macbook Air to Big Sur 11.3 version. Before I did it, when I turn on my MacBook, the Lock Screen wallpaper was the same of my desktop screen wallpaper. Now, when I Turn it on, shows the typical Big Sur screen protector and I can not find an option to change it. I would like to personalize my own Lock Screen wallpaper.

On macOS Mojave and later, before a user is selected and logged in you will see the default macOS background. Once you've logged in and have put your Mac to sleep or have locked the screen, when you wake your Mac up and it requests your user password, at that point your custom desktop background will appear.

I want to set up two mobile device groups, one for setting the home screen wallpaper, one for setting the lock screen wallpaper. (different pictures) So I setup one group (Before_Name.png) with one wallpaper for the home screen. When I go to the other group (After_Name.png), it has already set the wallpaper to home screen with the first picture. When I try to change the second group to set the lock screen wallpaper with a different picture, it changes the first Mobile Device Group's automated management to set the lock screen wallpaper instead of keeping the home screen setting.

Thanks @cnelson ! This helped me a lot! maybe in the future jamf will incorporate the ability to set separate wallpapers for lock and home screen in the same settings without having to have a separate smart group to accomplish this task.

When using start11 and I activate the menu portion I am unable to change my Lockscreen wallpaper from the stock photo. I know start11 is the culprit because if I disable it ..... the functionality of changing the wallpaper comes back. I'm using Windows 11 version 21H2 build 22000.493

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, I changed my lock screen using this steps : -to-customize-windows-11-lock-screen. And my lock screen is change. BTW, I also have Start11 installed and running on this system.

Do you know what is said to be the definition of insanity? ......Trying the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. I've already did what you have described to the very letter and it did not work. You know what does work? Disabling Start11. Thus, logic dictates that something about Start11 is the problem. I paid 6 bucks and I love this program, but I lose my own preference for a lock screen wallpaper and that kinda sucks. If somebody could give me another Fix for this that would be great because I'm not going to do what I've already done just to get the same result. That would be insane.

I agree. I did the DISM scan. It did not work. I've decided to disable the the lock screen with the GPE and I've disabled the wallpaper on the log-in screen. I'm ok with this work around as I did not like the hideous default wallpaper and I'm not willing to do a complete re install of my OS and numerous programs. Thanks for your help all the same.

I am making a wallpaper app. Here I am taking images from Firebase database. I want to give the users the option to set it as wallpaper and lockscreen. I was able to set the image as wallpaper by the following code

I have a parent with dementia and I am looking for ways to let her know, for example, if I'm in a meeting or something that I cannot answer phone. Is there a way to display a message on home screen/wallpaper and update as needed? We live separately and the hub can be either setup with her account or mine.

It has been a few days since the last reply, and I am going to lock the thread at this time. If you have any questions, please feel free to create a new post.

Best regards,
Jake

After the new software update (April 2022, One UI 4.1), I've been experiencing an issue with my lock screen wallpaper. The quality of the image changes after setting it as wallpaper. The image becomes low resolution and the colors were different from the original. I even tried it in samsung default wallpapers. On the other hand, there's no issue with my home screen wallpaper. I tried to screenshot my lock screen but the photo looks fine. Is this a bug on the new update? Is anyone experiencing the same issue?

@istroberi Hello, try clearing the cache and data of the Lock screen app. To do this, access Settings / Lock screen, scroll down to About Lock screen, see i button, in Permissions verify that you have the permissions granted, In Battery-Optimized, in Storage, clear the cache and data and restart the device.Comment.Greetings.

Your application has most likely failed. Try reinstalling the app. If the problem persists, then it's worth checking your phone settings. I have never used the wallpaper app. I usually look for beautiful wallpapers on Pinterest or use those Samsung offers. I recently downloaded a cool wallpaper at -wallpapers/. I always share useful links where you can find something interesting and valuable. I like to set a beautiful wallpaper on the lock screen and my computer's desktop. Most often, I choose pictures with motivational phrases.

You insult the consumer and you never give a correct answer. If not, answer these questions. Why does the screen of Samsung phones not turn on when receiving a new message from Instagram or WhatsApp, telegram or... ? Why is the screen always on in A32 but not in A33? What do you want to do with exinus? You want to creat something look like snapdragon or bionic of apple? You caaaaant! Please give up.

When unlocking your Galaxy phone, swiping the screen may display a picture of animals or landscape instead of a pattern or fingerprint recognition window. This is a Dynamic Lock screen provided by the Galaxy phone, and you can simply disable it at any time. Check the guide below to unlock the Dynamic Lock screen.

The Dynamic Lock Screen is a service that automatically updates and displays images of animals, landscapes, etc. every two weeks on the lock screen of your Galaxy phone. You can keep things fresh with different images each time you turn on the screen instead of the same wallpaper again and again.

A Dynamic lock screen can keep your lock screen fresh all the time, but you may want to turn this off because you get an unwanted page every time you try to unlock it. Follow the steps below to unlock the dynamic lock screen.

Step 3. Select None, and then tap the switch next to Swipe left for info page to disable. The Dynamic Lock screen picture will no longer appear when you swipe the lock screen.

Looking to implement a custom lock screen & wallpaper and enforce via GPO on Windows 10. Any recommendations on how to handle dimensions as we're in a mixed environment where display sizes & resolution are going to differ.

Thanks, helpful. The GPO isn't an issue. My real concern was managing an image that would look good on each screen. We have some old 4:3 ratio displays and some 16:9. Wasn't sure if there was a way to really manage this effectively.

I have this running as a GPO to update the lockscreen daily - just use whatever image you like.I use a script to pull down the daily BING image. I've said this before but that one thing is probably the most enjoyed IT feature amongst our users.

The suggestion of making a nice 16:9 wallpaper that crops well to 4:3 and using 'center' is your best bet. Alternatively you could implement a tiled wallpaper which should work well on any resolution.

Thanks for the explanation, Charles. I always came at this from the opposite perspective (20+ years in schools), looking to allow the students as much flexibility in personalizing their school-supplied computers as possible to give them as great a sense of ownership as possible. Another way we did this was with Lapjacks or some other kind of sticker designed for computers. Which could also be another way to achieve your end goal, though pricier than just resetting the lock screen.

I have windows 10 in my environment. If you have old pc and from different manufacturers ( i have hps and dells), this can be an issue. Different drivers, different resolutions will factor in and some users will not like how the screen lock image looks. I have a big issue with those with 2+ monitors. My solution? I created computer groups ie by department, then type of computer, then dual monitor or not. A lot of work, but worth it since i also push driver updates to them

Thanks all, while we have a standard OEM (HP) there is a disparity in the model & display sizes from school to school. It seems like a centered graphic/wallpaper with a relatively low resolution is the way to go. Not sure I want to invest the time with WMI filters, etc. just for a lockscreen wallpaper!

Once that was done, we used an AutoIt script I wrote which pulls in the correct wallpaper depending on the reported res or defaults to 1024x768. It works quite well but doesn't support multiple monitors very well.

I modified the panthon-greeter.config but still my lock screen wallpaper is the same and why does it say default wallpaper and doesn't differentiate between lock screen and background wallpaper. How can i keep them separate ??I am using Loki

And to set different wall for the destop only, choose an image from any other location in the system, and use right clik->set as wallpaper - that should keep them separate. Tested it on JUNO Beta2 and it works.
