These versions were discontinued and were not designed to work on advanced operating systems. Therefore, versions 8 or 9 that are installed on modern operating systems, such as Win 7 or Win 8, will not work. Please contact support to find out how to upgrade to the latest version.
Servicing the computer is not in the scope of Optitex Support. We will however be able to assist you with subjects that are related to the Optitex Software suite. For servicing issues, we suggest you contact a service center for your PC.
Optitex does not have a demo version. However, if you are interested, contact an Optitex representative in your region and they will arrange a software demonstration for you and discuss different options for testing the software for a trial period.
We are always happy to receive new ideas from our users. The best way to submit a feature request is by submitting it to our portal. Please try to include as much information as to what you need , why it is important, what will be the best use for it, etc. We will follow up with more questions if needed and will let you know the status of your request.
Another option is to create a PDF file from the PRINT dialog in Optitex. Please note that Print is not as accurate as the plot function and the conversion to PDF is done by a 3rd party program. To do so, first make sure you have a PDF printer installed (e.g. CuteFTP or similar).
It's a company producing software for the fashion industry, from garment design to production (their suite includes tools to create actual patterns in different sizes from the model, and even cut actual fabric based on those patterns), including 3D visualization of each model and model collections. It just says optitex is usng DAZ 3D Originals models not that optitex is back to developing it's SW for DAZ Studio again. Those 16 pages of optitex clothes aren't too shabby by the way when you take time to position, fit/size, and drape them in the optitex plugin.
I have used the OptiTex clothing for years and it is very flexable, especially how it knows its own shape no matter how you have to move it to fit first. Both dynamic cloth systems in DS have their good and bad
Probalby Optitex clothes and items will return to work in DAZ Studio. Lately i've tryed tu use them another time (have ever worked well, until DAZ 4.0), but in 2 different time hasn't worked more. When i've launche Drape (is how the Optitex call the simulation) the clothes and the items has going trought everything in the scene.
As a DAZ user I only care if this adds new funds to DAZ development, or if it takes away developer time. Generally, I see interoperability as a good thing, might indirectly improve other bridges like Blender (which I care about).
This is a very expensive software suite aimed at professional fashion companies which includes a 3D pattern modelling app. Price will depend on which module the company needs and how many users the company has.

EFI has released a new version of its Optitex textile design software, with a new Print and Cut feature that enables printing of all garment patterns on a single roll. This alone should lead to significant savings in fabric roll inventory of 15-40 percent when compared to traditional methods.
