SiSoftware Sandra is a 32- and 64-bit client/server Windows system analyzer that includes benchmarking, testing and listing modules. It tries to go beyond other utilities to show you more of what is really going on under the hood so you draw comparisons at both a high and low-level in a single product. You can get information about the CPU, GPGPU, chipset, video adapter (GPU), ports, printers, sound card, memory, network, Windows internals even .NET and Java.
I think I heard the sound of a gong after seeing Parallels score even higher with one CPU than my machine scores natively in Windows with two. Benchmarking virtualized machines can produce weird results, but a few things are clear: VMware's real-time OpenGL 3-D rendering is just shy of laughable at 5 percent of native speed due to its lack of acceleration. Parallels' real-time 3-D speed is no bug, though; it's very visibly faster at drawing each frame of the test scene than VMware 2.0 is. I couldn't test Parallels with Vista 64-bit since it doesn't have 64-bit OS support yet.
SiSoftware Sandra is an information & diagnostic utility. It should provide most of the information (including undocumented) you need to know about your hardware, software, and other devices whether hardware or software. It provides similar level of information to Norton SI, Quarterdeck WinProbe/Manifest, etc. The Win32 version is 32-bit and comes in both ANSI and native Unicode formats. The Win64 version is 64-bit and comes in native Unicode format.
First you'll want to grab the latest version of Sandra, which at the time of writing is up to version 2013 SP3a (19.44). Head over to www.sisoftware.co.uk, click 'Download & Buy' at the top of the page, select 'Download' at the bottom of the Lite column and then click the 64-bit 'X64' option from the Microsoft Windows Platform list.
