Hi All,

To get things started I would just like to give a short list of my recent experiences with ERDDAP, I will expand on this later:

• While at the Marine Institute in Ireland I used their ERDDAP (marine.erddap.ie) to develop a dashboard (http://apps.marine.ie/galwaydashboard/) for Galway Bay, Ireland. This was done with JavaScript, HTML and ERDDAP.
• While at the JRC (https://ec.europa.eu/jrc/) I developed an ERDDAP catalog (https://bluehub.jrc.ec.europa.eu/erddap/index.html) which collects together data (or more accurately references to data)  from other catalogs tha could be used for maritime situational awareness research, see the Blue Hub (https://bluehub.jrc.ec.europa.eu/) There is no public access to the Blue Hub WebGIS. Incidentally the Blue Hub catalog is partially mirrored by the Marine Institute (http://mda.marine.ie/erddap/index.html)
• Having all the this data collected together in one spot allows the Blue Hub to tap into data resources as needed. For example it gets the global weather forecast (GFS) and sea ice data from ERDDAP and displays them in the Blue Hub WebGis (see attahced documents).

Attached is the paper and presentation I presented at the Digital Earth 2015 conference in Halifax, Canada. The paper gives more detail on how ERDDAP is used to obtain marine and Earth science data that can be used to improve maritime situational awareness.
