Thanks for using ERDDAP™.

This is the main announcement to the ERDDAP™ Announcements Mailing List. NOAA ERD has been using the new version for about one and a half weeks without any problems. I'm now recommending that all ERDDAP™ administrators switch to the new version.

https://github.com/ERDDAP/erddap/releases/tag/v2.27.0

We have an official ERDDAP Docker image available:
https://hub.docker.com/r/erddap/erddap

You can read about all of the changes at
https://erddap.github.io/changes.html#version-2270

Some 2.27.0 release highlights for administrators (for more in depth descriptions see the changes link above which will also link to more in depth documentation):
  • Updated cache behavior. The cache will be periodically cleared, independent of dataset major reloads. It will also be cleared more aggressively when the server is low on disk space.
  • Support for localized dataset metadata. Inside all <addAttributes> sections you can add localized attributes with xml:lang="{langCode}" attributes.
  • New Docker Compose file with options for SSL and a barebones Prometheus server. Thanks to Shane St. Savage for the SSL and Jiahui Hu for the Prometheus.
  • Support for using information in the headers to determine the server URL instead of relying on the config file. Please enable it and send feedback.
<useHeadersForUrl>true</useHeadersForUrl>
This version includes important optimizations, improvements, and changes, including security-related changes (updated libraries), so I strongly encourage you to upgrade. See the instructions at
https://erddap.github.io/docs/server-admin/deploy-update

If you have any problems, questions, or suggestions, please create an issue on GitHub or email me.

Thank you for using ERDDAP™.

Chris
