Hello IOOS DMAC community,
Please join us on Thursday, July 31 at 3 pm Eastern for this month's IOOS DMAC Tech webinar led by Bob Currier on erddap2mcp (https://github.com/robertdcurrier/erddap2mcp).
Erddap2mcp allows users to search datasets, retrieve metadata, and analyze variables through natural language queries using MCP rather than manual URL construction. MCP (https://modelcontextprotocol.io/introduction) is an open protocol that standardizes how applications provide context to LLMs. Built on the official erddapy Python client, erddap2mcp supports both tabledap and griddap protocols and includes data preview capabilities with summary statistics. The demonstration will highlight how to install the package and examples of natural language searches against ERDDAP with Claude (https://claude.ai/).
