to ERDDAP-Announce
This is the main announcement to the ERDDAP™ Announcements Mailing List. NOAA ERD has been using the new version for about one and a half weeks without any problems. I'm now recommending that all ERDDAP™ administrators switch to the new version.

https://github.com/ERDDAP/erddap/releases/tag/v2.30.0

We have an official ERDDAP™ Docker image available:
https://hub.docker.com/r/erddap/erddap
or through GitHub packages:
https://github.com/ERDDAP/erddap/pkgs/container/erddap

You can read about all of the changes at
https://erddap.github.io/changes.html#version-2300

Possible action required - ERDDAP™ 2.29.0+ requires JDK version 25. JDK 25 includes performance improvements that our testing shows to be significant improvements for ERDDAP™. If you are upgrading from a version before 2.29.0, please plan to also upgrade to JDK version 25.

Improvements:
    • Enhanced Croissant metadata compatibility and manifest support, including mlcroissant compatibility.
    • Improved support for parquet booleans.

Optional action - a new feature flag forceSynchronousLoading has been added to optionally force synchronous dataset loading instead of the default deferred background loading. This option should rarely be needed, but is available for administrators for uncommon deployment scenarios.

This version includes important optimizations, improvements, and changes, including security-related changes (updated libraries), so I strongly encourage you to upgrade. See the instructions at
https://erddap.github.io/docs/server-admin/deploy-update

If you have any problems, questions, or suggestions, please create an issue on GitHub or email me.

Thank you for using ERDDAP™.
