how to cut sattelite images within Erdas Imagine
By emma-am in ERDAS Software Forum
I am interested to cut the image files within Erdas Imagine by shape of country (vector and/or raster file).
Will be grateful, if somebody will write me how to do that.
Will be waiting
Emma

You will need to add the vector layer to the viewer. Select the polygon of interest and use the AOI tools to convert the selection to .aoi format. You can then use the Subset tool to subset your image to this AOI.

Assuming you are using the GLT viewer > launch the AOI tool palette (Hammer over cyan polygon). Once you have the vector layer selected click on the "Add Selected ... to Specified AOI Layer Polygon" (right facing arrow over cyan polygon). With your newly created AOI selected launch the subset tools (small rectangle inside large rectangle with right facing arrow). Within the Subset tool click on the AOI button to specify using the selected AOI in the current viewer.
