hi ,I got caught in the same problem in the newest Erdas version releaed when Im try to open and process tiff files .as an amature in tiff programming ,Im curious about if it is possible to integrate tiff processing dll  thus this feature would be more stable and complete.

Not all .TIFF images are created equally.  the TIFF standard is an evolving format that has changed significantly since the release of 9.2 (see the "Problem" thread in the Forum).  It is possible to create a TIFF image that properly conforms to today's standards but not conform to the standards used to write in the 9.2 era.

Try IMPORTing the .tif file into .img format.  You may have to try different options within the importer to bypass the offending header information.  You may have to ultimately use the Generic Binary importer to bypass all of the header information and get the imagery.  Realize that you will have to add all metadata manually after the image has been imported.

The other option is to upgrade to a more recent version of the software that has a greater probability of handling the .tif image that was probably created using a more recent data standard.
