Hi,

I would appreciate your help for that one too:
I wonder if there is any way to export composed maps (produced using the "map composer") into 500 dpi jpegs?

I tried to export into Tiff 600 dpi, then open in ArcGIS and then export from there, but I did not obtain a 600 dpi image surprisingly. Did I miss to fill-up / check something?

Thank you very much for your advices.

Lauriane Boisrobert.

Hi All,

I believe that I found a way arround:

I exported into imagine (600dpi), then I opened the imagine file in ArcGIS and exported into JPEGS from there.

Any other solutions which would gives better result?

Lauriane,

Your first step in creating a 600 dpi .img is correct. From there I
would click Import/Export, select the Export radio button. Next scroll
down the Type list and find JFIF (JPEG) as the output type. Now select
the 600 dpi .img file and create a .jpg file.

Within the Export dialog box you can have the option of
1. setting a standard deviation stretch (not recommended) After
generating the map composition you do not want to stretch the output and
alter the colors in any way so be sure to uncheck that box; and,
2. setting the quality of the jpg compression. If you have some
important text in the image that you want to look sharp then set the
quality to 100%. The .jpg file will be a little larger but it will look
better.
