If SVM is extrenal sofware - which I do not know. New 2010 version should be capable of calling it from SML script. So by text scripting you can call external tools from model maker model. You can do do it from graphical UI of Model Maker. timo

A SVM is a mathematical model to distinguish values by a support vector. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Support_vector_machine

It would be just great to have such a powerful tool in ERDAS. Even when it's possible to implement SML in ModelMaker I doubt it's easy to script a SVM.

OK - now I know more - still my comment is bit valid. If someone has implemented such thing in command line it can be accessed via model maker. In generally implementation sounds a bit of a toolkit issue. timo

Hopefully someone did. I'm in touch with some guys from the German Aerospace Center who already use SVMs but only in their proprietary processing tools. Maybe they're able to convert their approach to SML even when they have no clue about ERDAS....UNIX users ;-)

As far as I know a texture analysis is needed, namely Structure Tensor based on the smallest eigenvalue's mean and standard deviation. It's hard to implement though, anyway using the existing edge enhancing tools in ERDAS for Radar stuff would also be sufficient, I think.

Like mentioned weeks ago there are no Graphical Models for these scripts even when they're already included in ERDAS, maybe because of closed source?!
