Orthorectification of RapidEye data
By Cecília in ERDAS Software Forum

Hello,

I have some RapidEye satellite images on NITF 2.0 format and I would like to orthorectify them.

Does anyone has some quick hints on how to orthorectify RapidEye images on ERDAS Imagine 2011?

And how to use the RPC values on the header of the NITF 2.0 files?

Thanks,

Cecília

If you want to rapidly orthorectify these without adding control, go to the Raster tab, Geometric Calibration, Orthorectify without GCP, select your image, confirm that the RPC model has been found, Use existing model, and fill out the fields in the interface as needed.  This is a significantly streamlined option for orthorectification of NITF imagery without control.

If you wish to add GCP first, then load the image in the viewer, go to the Panchromatic or Multispectral tab, and use the control points button.  You'll have to refer to the on-line help for details of how to use this interface set.
