Exporting Image Coordinates and GCPs
By ctran in ERDAS Software Forum

I am trying to find a way to export image (XY) coordinates along with manually inputted GCPs (XYZ) in Erdas Imagine 2010.

I would like to create an 11-image DEM, but it is very tedious. I will be taking the same 11 images over and over, and would like to import these coordinates and manually shift a few points, as necessary.

The "Import or Export Points" tool in LPS only exports the GCPs.

A similar post was made here: http://lists.directionsmag.com/discussion/read.php?f=12&t=30978&a=2

Does anyone have any idea how to do this?

Re: Exporting Image Coordinates and GCPs

I am not sure is it available everywhere in Imagine but traditionally this has been made in following way.

Select the rows and columns from Erdas table tool that contains the values you want. Then right click and export. That allows you to export wanted rows and columns into a external text file. I have been using this method for ages with normal Imagine single frame rectification. The challenge with LPS is Image space and coordinate space measurements are not neccessarily in same table and by that exporting requires some table matching by point ID or so.

In Imagine side this works prefectly and I have felt that it is the most sensible way to store points.
