In the supervised classification dialog box there is an option in the upper right corner to create the distance file. The distance file is an image representing the spectral distance of the DN value to the mean of its class. The larger the spectral distance, the whiter the pixel (black pixels are low values, white pixels are higher numbers) and hence could be outliers of that class. You may want to check the these pixels to see if they have been classified correctly.

Subject: [erdas-l] fuzzy classification
Hello everyone!
I would like to perform fuzzy classification. After classification procedure, ERDAS Imagine has another
application called fuzzy convolution to go further. In the fuzzy convolution there is a need of an *.img file
called Input Distance File. Can anybody tell me how to form this file and give some information about it.
Is it an output of the image classification?
Thank you very much in advance...
Isin
