Transparent Null values in ER Mapper
By John Watt in ERDAS Software Forum

Greetings.

I am seeking advice on exporting non-square images from ER Mapper so the Null values appear transparent when used in another application, in particular Google Earth.

Any help greatly appreciated.
John

John,

You would have to export th the files in a file format that support transparancy. i.e the black wedges on the edges of the image are a consistent value.

Then most of the dependancy on null support is in the application you are trying to use it is. If the black wedges on the edges of your imagery are all a consistant value then you might be able to make that value transparent.

Google Earth seems to support png files and they support transparency so maybe this might be a good way to go
