You can have the Titan super computer and that game could still be running slow. That game does not have support for any current OS, so it could be your emulator, your FX processor, or just the game itself. A lot of older games are better optimized for Intel and not amd, but it's hard to say what is causing your issues for certain. Has it always ran slowly, or is this a recent thing?
So you will have to run it from the source location. Did you have to mount a virtual cd drive to install it or a real cd? or was it the old floppy version and you mounted imgs? I tested it for you with a cd version I mounted. The install.exe on the cd works.
Also Ive noticed some DOS games run really slow... like the particle menu effects in Daggerfall and Arena if vsync is on. But in the end if all fails its prob cuz your hardware is too modern even for dosbox to interpret optimally. Hope you find whats causing it.
Ive actually built a menu system that returns back to itself after each game and dynamically alters cpu cycles and other misc settings per game, mounts and unmounts etc.. all automaticly on the fly. Here is what it looks like:
I have the floppy version. So is there a way to get to the setup again or should I just reinstall? I have drive c: mounted with a folder in dosbox that contains all my dos games. And from within that folder I just change directory to whatever game I wan't to play and then type in whatever command launches each game. It's tie for Star Wars Tie Fighter.
Well I typed install in dosbox and that got me to the setup menu so I selected the fast option for my machine and the game still runs slow :( The one thing that console games have over PC games is you don't run into this problem.
After installing this product my laptop (HP Envy 7 Notebook) ran extremely slow. This happens not only when Malware Fighter is scanning but when it is idle and even after being closed. It may take several seconds to go from File Explorer for example to open a file. I finally uninstalled it and it works better. Are there settings that I may try that would help?
On my HP Envy Notebook computer with an i7 processor and 16 GB of ram I decided to delete Advanced Care, Defrag, Uninstall Pro, plus Malware Fighter and it runs much faster. On my older Dell i5 processor it works better. However, if I turn off Real-Time Protection is there any point to having it in the first place?

As the game starts it's running at a solid 60fps, as soon as you click on the character select screen slow motion and huge frame drops start happening from 60fps to 30 fps with audio being desync also. As a fight start frames can drop even lower to 15 fps with choppy gameplay also in slow motion. I have tried all I can think of including turning off V-sync to turning off

Ok. So iv'e been having this problem with FSX ever since I got it like 3 years ago. Whenever I fly jets, no matter which one, I can't get it to fly or accelerate at high altitudes nearly as fast as it does at low altitudes. I know it should be the opposite because the air is thinner at high altitudes. I am not a noob so I am not talking about KIAS, I am talking about KTAS. For instance, if I try flying my Superbug at FL300 I have to use full burners to keep a reasonable cruising speed but at FL050 I accelerate about 10 time faster and can fly much faster. Am I not understanding something? Is something wrong? Is FSX just unrealistic like that? I've done a lot of research and found nothing about my issue. I need answers!!!
Most supersonic fighters in fsx fly way too fast at low altitude, and way too slow at high altitude. This is due to errors in fsx, resulting in incorrect thrust. Some designers have tried to include mach drag, but not many. Combined with inaccurate induced drag, most fighters in fsx fly more like UFOs than turbojet aircraft.
7. How can it be fixed?
This is tricky, and involves tables 1502-1507 in the .air file. Basically the engine needs to run higher rpm at higher altitude to produce more thrust. Some 160% N1 and 130% N2 may be required at 36000ft. Aircraft can be given very accurate flight envelopes, but those values will be messed up.
Getting the aircraft to turn properly is another story, and equally complicated.
