Custombackgrounds dont work on the forums from my testing. Although if you set your xbox profile to a default xbox profile pic or an avatar pic it seems to work. Once you got the new profile you like you can add your custom one back.

It really depends on what you are into, but it's easier to browse through them on xbox.com and see what you are getting for the price. There's some good Mass Effect 2 pic packs, and also some good Star Wars pic packs in Force Unleased 2 giving you a lot of classic characters if SW is your thing.

I generally stick with Red Wings or Braves because i'm a big sports fan, but i'll also use a handful of others I own. Just about every sports game has something to offer you for the team you pull for.

My favorite Gamerpic pack was the I Am Legend picture pack because if you put the one of Will Smith and the dog Sam as your pic, then a coding error took effect to where your gamer pic automatically changed to what ever the person who was looking at your page had for their picture. It was really weird to see a whole party all with the same picture because of it. Sadly they patched it and it no longer works.

Recently I just bought the GTA V picture pack for 80 points that came with 10, worth it if you ask me. Hitman Bloodmoney ones are all good. I love the ones for both Condemned games. I guess some of them depend on what your favorite games are and if they have a picture pack for it.

There are some new good ones and a lot of older good ones too. I took the time one day a year or so ago to go through every one. Found a lot of good movie ones. I'll post a bunch of free ones for you, but you should also look through them on the dashboard because I can't seem to find some through the side. The gamestop ones are pretty good too and free. There were also some for Falling Skies, The Wolverine, Man of Steel you can find too.

I hope all the links are correct because I just spent an hour checking for most of the free ones. They are easier to find through the dash and I realize the ones above aren't the best, but hey.. they are free.

Available to users on smartphones, Xbox One and Xbox Series XS consoles, and Windows PCs, anyone can take any picture and stick it up on their Xbox Live profile for all to see. Of course, standard community guidelines apply (and Microsoft's system approves pictures before they go live). Up until a short while ago, Xbox Live users were only able to express themselves without custom avatar poses or pre-set pictures. Thankfully, Microsoft finally added the ability to add your own avatar across the entire Xbox Live network.

Here's how you can set up your own Xbox gamerpic, across consoles, mobile devices, and Windows 10 and Windows 11 PCs. The easiest method without a doubt is via a smartphone, but there are other ways if you don't have access to one.

For this to work, you'll need a USB stick or another USB external storage device to set the picture on your console. Simply insert the USB stick into the console with your picture saved somewhere on the stick. The picture needs to be formatted in 1080 x 1080 dimensions. You can learn how to do that below.

All gamerpics on Xbox One need to be HD cropped to a square, hitting at least 1080 x 1080 resolution, or 512 x 512 resolution via a mobile device. You can resize any picture easily using one of the best photo editing apps, like Polarr, a free app on PC and mobile devices. These steps might differ based on the platform you use, but they should be very similar.
